Monday Deadline for 1964 Caribou County Taxes

Caribou County residents must pay the 1964 property taxes at the treasurer’s office by Monday. A 2 percent penalty and 8 percent yearly interest apply to delinquent amounts. Taxes may be paid in two installments, with the second not delinquent until June 20, 1965 if the first is paid on time. Tax books close Monday at 5 p.m. until Jan. 25. Land Bank Declares Dividend in Northwest States

The Federal Land Bank Association of Preston declares a 41673 dollar dividend to stockholders from a 1200000 dollar Spokane bank dividend. The Preston group is one of 61 associations in four northwest states owning Spokane Bank capital stock. Over 850 farmers and stockmen in Franklin, Caribou, Oneida, Bear Lake and Bannock counties will share the payment. The Spokane bank’s 1,206,000 dollar dividend is the largest in its 47 year history, bringing total dividends since 1944 to 7,800,000 dollars.

Fire Destroys Trailer Home Of Local Family

Three Peterson children escaped injury when a Hughes Trailer Park trailer home burned at 7:15 am. Mrs. Dick Fisher entered the blaze to rescue the two year old girl but both escaped unharmed as the trailer exploded behind her. Nothing was salvaged from the home.

Grand Prizes To Be Awarded Saturday In Soda Springs

Three grand prizes from the Soda Springs Chamber of Commerce will be given at City Hall at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday December 19. Grace Red Devils win two games over weekend

Grace Red Devils defeated Raft River 78-36 on Friday with Barthiome 18 Panzer 17 Christensen 12 among double figures. Saturday they beat North Rich 73-59 led by Barthlome 16 Panter 16 Rasmussen 12 Anderson 10 while Hansen 18 and Robinson 16 for North Rich. Grace travels to Cokeville Friday and Malad Saturday.

Bids Called On Highway 34 In Idaho Section

Idaho State Highway department opened bids for the Cleve land-Thatcher 4.015 mile section of the Preston Grace highway. Project includes roadway irrigation structures and a 20 foot concrete culvert with bids due January 5 in Boise and 200 calendar days for completion. North Gem High split weekend boys basketball with a 57-38 win over Raft River and a 65-45 loss to Aberdeen.
