CofC Hosts Mining Slide Presentation in Soda Springs
The Soda Springs Chamber of Commerce met at Trail Cafe with 14 members and guests from Monsanto Stalker Chevrolet and Soda Springs Phosphate Company. George Atwood presented color slides on Mining in Idaho from the Idaho Mining Association, noting new wealth from the ground. The next chamber meeting is set for the Thursday in August.

The trick horse Apache Star was stabbed in the leg Saturday night after performing at the Caribou County Fair. The animal is not permanently damaged. A suspect was arrested and charged in the incident.

In Idaho, James McClure and William E. Davis win major party nominations for U S Senate. McClure leads with 46 467 votes to 84 968 for Hansen and others. The Gala Senior Fair Parade on August 4 featured 37 floats in Caribou County Fair and Rodeo events. Farm Bureau won first for the theme with Lisa Robbins. Grace Second Ward’s Seeds of Today are Flowers of Tomorrow took second in beauty, built by Don Sonene and Mrs Charles Harrison. Sno-Drifters Soda Springs won originality, Sno-Goer Grace won animality and theme in special awards. Ed Keller and Glade Oberhansch and families visited Ashton.
