The Rev. Russell Ford of Cable Tabernacle Indianapolis will evangelize at Memorial E A B Church for a week of services starting 7 30 p m Sunday and nightly through Oct 7. Ford known as the Singing Preacher will appear on the tabernacle radio program at noon a week from Sunday with Mrs Paul Powell as organist and Mrs Clifford Wise as pianist. Public is invited to all services.

Calmes Retiring and Post Office Staffing Changes Told
Charles Calmes will retire from the Carey post office effective Oct. 3. Postmaster J A Schira announced that Assistant Postmaster John Jacoby also retires that date, with several promotions and new appointments in the office. Four vacancies remain after the changes, with 14 applicants taking the clerk carrier civil service exam in Fostoria. Calmes says he has no plans for fishing or other activities.

Three Car Crash Near Portage Causes No Injuries
Mr and Mrs Raymond Jacobs and relatives were returning from Dunbridge when a car traveling 80 mph attempted to pass, causing a three car collision on US Route 25 north of Portage. No injuries were reported. Morris Sharrad, 20, of Gables, Mich, was arrested for reckless operation and fined $10 plus costs. The Jacobs car sustained moderate damage but was driven home.

Carey Exempted Village Welcomes Eight New Teachers
John Edward Drobnick is among eight new hires for the Carey Exempted Village Board of Education this year. He will teach seventh grade English geography and literature plus driver education at the high school and physical education for grades 4 through 8. A Harvey High School graduate of 1948, he served four years in the armed forces before earning a bachelor of science in education from Ohio State University in August 1956. He played multiple sports in high school.
