Eleven Carey volunteer firemen answered a call at 12:18 am on September 17. Don Ejingle of Muncie Street reported his auto was on fire six miles from Carey on Route 199 near the Crawford Bridge. The vehicle fire was extinguished before arrival.

The Fortnichily Club started its 1968 69 season on September 19 at Findlay College Planetarium. Fourteen members attended a God created the heaven and earth themed program presented by Dr Wineland. Theodore C. Myers 70 of 2061 W Findlay Street died September 20 1968 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital after a week and a half as a patient. Born February 28 1898 in Carey he married Estella V Vogel in 1937 she died in 1954. Survived by brothers Harry in Carey Donald Bucyrus John inwood and several sisters including Catherine Davidson Frat Pahl Eliza Greer and Jane Lindsay. He owned and operated the Carey Beer Store for 25 years retiring earlier. He belonged to the International Shrine of Our Lady of Salvation Knights of Columbus and Kiwanis. Services held September 22 930 am at church with Rev Hu Kobinski officiating. Burial in St Marys Cemetery Bristoll Funeral Home in charge.
