On Junior Fair Day at Wyandot County Fair Pat Rall daughter of Mr and Mrs Raymond Rall Upper Sandusky and Wayne Derr son of Mr and Mrs Joe Derr west of Carey were named queen and king. The event showcased 4 H projects FHA and spaders with blue ribbon winners from Carey and Mohawk. Judges evaluated fruits vegetables dairy ponies sheep and beef while hog market greased pig and tractor pull events drew crowds.

David C. Stombaugh son of C Robert and Mrs C Bristoll Stombaugh graduates from the Cincinnati College of Embalming with Cum Laude honors and honorable mention. He begins a funeral director apprenticeship with his grandfather at Bristoll Funeral Home this week, followed by embalmer apprenticeship after next month’s exams. Carey hosted crowning of 1963 Junior King Cheryl Ann Heffelfinger and John G. Greer Jr as they presented crowns to state Rep. Fred Cassel. Snyder Lumber Wins Bid for Waterworks Restrooms Project
Snyder Lumber Co of Ca- Tey was awarded a 4505.13 contract to build restrooms at Waterworks Park. Council approved the bid and set a 45 day completion goal with future contracts. The council also discussed underground wiring, power lines to a new traffic signal, building permits, and an equipment expense question. A potato chip solicitor from Findlay requested Carey house-to-house sales permit, to be deliberated later.

Carey Satellite Kitchen Opens At Col. Crawford School
The Carey Abemted Village Schools opened a new satellite kitchen in the Col. Crawford Elementary Building with upgraded central cooking facilities. About 500 pupils are served daily, with 300 in the multi purpose room and 200 in the high school cafeteria.
