PTA Welfare Committee Cans Fruit for Undernourished Children
The Fort Wayne PTA Welfare Committee led by Mrs Ervin Wentling canned 62 quarts first day 160 second day to aid undernourished schoolchildren. Mrs Harry Beis donated 36 quarts. Contents include pears apples corn tomatoes beans soup and spinach. The Fortnightly club added 200 quarts via cold pack including tomatoes plums peaches apple sauce tomato puree spinach and vegetable soup.

Death of 4 year old Donald Eugene Poland
Donald Eugene Poland died at 1 30 p m Tuesday at the family home two miles west of Carey after a week with infantile paralysis. Born August 4 1928 he was the son of Charles and Bertha Kistler Poland. He is survived by six brothers Earl Glen Carl Ivan Harold and Gene and three sisters Clara Dorothy and Helen all at home. A grandmother Mrs Amanda Lyons of Weston and grandfather John Kistler of Findlay also survive. Private funeral services led by Rev Paul R Clouser will be held at the home at 10 this morning. Interment in Spring Grove cemetery north of town.
