Rally Day at Memorial Evangelical Church near Skally is set for Sunday October 2 at 9 30 am. Revival services run November 6 for two weeks with Rev CS Poling and Rev LH Naumann preaching each evening and special music nightly. The offering on Rally Day supports the church building fund. bring friends and cheerful donations.
A Billhardt Jr of Upper Sandusky clerk of the county board of elections reports nominees for two Carey school board vacancies. The petition lists Dr W N Johnson and Mrs Nora Wenner for election, with the county auditor having received the nomination by mail dated September 15 1927.
The undersigned forbid all hunting and trespassing on land they own or control including property of John Powell Theodore Stark Carl Shuman Clarence Powell Jacob Fruth Harry Luzader Nicholas Lumberjack. A 25 cent charge applies for each name listed for the current hunting season.
The Methodist church ladies will host a chicken supper at the church this Thursday evening September 22. Public is invited and tickets cost 50 cents.
Gerald Bradley of Carey is listed on the Wittenberg College football squad preparing for the opening game with Findlay College on Sept. 24 in Springfield Ohio. Head coach E R Godfrey leads a large group of athletes as 59 players are trimmed to 40 with 15 lettermen returning for a 10 game slate running through Thanksgiving.
The Columbus Dispatch profiling Art Huston and Schear as top freshmen who may rise to varsity, noting Huston's passing and ball carrying and Schear's line play amid center weaknesses. Huston is identified as son of Mr and Mrs T G Huston of Findlay.
Preparatory repairs on Vance Street will start Friday and take about a month to complete. Lester Lippert of Toledo leads the Toledo Asphalt Block Paving Co, which is handling the project and laid the original pavement 15 years ago.
Saturday morning John Twining lost control of his car on E Findlay street and crashed into the porch at the residence of Mrs. W A Perkins, demolishing a brick pillar and causing porch damage.
After more than two weeks of record breaking warmth in September the temperature gradually cooled by Saturday and frosted on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. No damage was reported.

Church Day services at the M. E. church opened last Thursday led by the Woman's Home Missionary Society under President Mrs. George Ash. Readings, prayers, and letters from district officials were shared, with officers and dues updates for October planned. Cincinnati Branch to meet in Akron October 4-6. Rev J B Shellhaas returned for another year.
The PTA held its first monthly meeting of the school year in the high school auditorium with about 75 attendees. A bus iness session followed a pleasing program, featuring the high school orchestra and talks by A. E. Constien and Mrs C E Palmer. The next meeting is planned for Monday evening October 10.
Mr and Mrs C A Williams and Earl Lombard and Mrs Carlos Griffin attended the funeral of George Lombard in Toledo on Thursday. Lombard, 59, was an accountant for the T and O and youngest brother of the late Wm Lombard. He dropped dead while waiting for a car at the Fostoria interurban station and is survived by two sons.
Carey G T Cross M F Davis and A C Lindeberg arrive for a two week property inspection. They are dispatched by the Ohio Insurance Bureau. The prior Carey inspection occurred in 1925.
The Carey Creamery led by manager Richard Smith rents the Hart Bros room formerly the Weil Street Inn. The room will be fitted with a water tight floor before the creamery station is moved.
Robert Smith and Arch Donelson have purchased the bottling and distribution equipment from C. C. Heck and Paul Heck and will operate that part of the dairy business going forward.

Under hot conditions Carey High and Liberty battle to a 6-6 draw after a game filled with multiple line plunges and short passes. Key players include Gardner Krebs and Spitler as both sides exchange drives and defensive stands.
Carey High 11 meets Waite High of Toledo in a key season game next Saturday Sept 24. Coach Bowman reshapes the lineup and the squad practices signal drills and scrimmage this week as they travel to Toledo to contest every point.
The Waite team leaders Captain Geza Baitko and Coach Zorny attended the Friday night game along with several teammates as part of their intention to beat Waite.
Under the student council, a new plan called the student book exchange allowed pupils to buy second hand books. It proved to be a success and reflects well on the council, which organized last year and did splendid work.
In addition to class officers this year a group called home room officers was chosen. Senior officers include Madalene Pipes as president Russell Ward as secretary and Sehaal nomed TT Lois Helms as treasurer. Junior officers list Forest Davis president Lester Smiley secretary Melford Heck treasurer. Sophomore officers Robert Mc Daniel president Reed Bachar secretary Edward Patterson treasurer. Freshman group I Cloyce Wentling president Kenneth O'Brien secretary treasurer. Freshman group II Helen Gottfried president Alfred Bland secretary treasurer.
The Seniors chose officers for the year with Robert Holden as president, Doris Weaver as vice president, and Kathryn Thom as secretary treasurer. The Juniors named Howard Diller as president, Dorothy Mitchell as treasurer, and John Winans as candy manager.
Dorothy Lusk and Metford Heck were chosen as cheer leaders for the year at a pep meeting held in the auditorium Thursday afternoon.
The A A membership drive ran late last week urging every student to buy a ticket. A ticket grants access to all home football and basketball games and track events. Class sales reported as Seniors 87 percent Juniors 130 percent Sophomores 82 percent Freshman room 7 109 percent Freshman room 8 60 percent.
Morning chapel occurred in the auditorium led by Mr Palmer. Devotionals were led by Mr Postle. The service featured two songs including The Capital Ship and closed after announcements about Friday’s football game and next Saturday’s game with Waite.
The Times reports 1927 has no closed season for squirrel hunting but notes odd numbered years after will also be closed. The legal language confuses many as it implies no season this year and future odd years.
The Glen Gault farm traders convention near town ended Sunday without expected success. A red horse, belonging to a departing trader, was struck and killed Sunday night when it darted in front of a car west of town.
Mrs Ella Smith Miss Etta Kem merly Mrs Sam Gunther and others attended the district Eastern Star convention in Ada on Friday. Mrs Allen played Ruth in the convention work.
The 74th Wyandot county fair opened with fair weather and a large turnout on Wednesday, offering a mule race and county races as highlights. Judging for needlework opened Tuesday in the art hall while exhibits included horticulture, livestock, farm equipment, and a new greenhouse display.
The Carey Farmers Community Club will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday at the farmers cream station. The topic is Has the Livestock of the Last 20 Years Been Improved The public is invited and refreshments will be served. Visitors may join the club.
Dean Ashley son of Mr and Mrs L R Ashley of this place has returned from Liberia where he worked 18 months as an accountant for Firestone Plantation Co. He married Miss Dorothy Humbert of Akron in New York City Monday at 4 40 PM. They plan to travel to Carey later this week where Miss Humbert has previously visited.
An 80-pound daughter named Barbara Jane was born to Mr and Mrs Cyril Mohr of South Street Sunday evening. A 9-pound son arrived for Mr and Mrs Grinton of Upper Mount Clair New Jersey. Mrs Grinton was formerly Katharine McCabe a high school teacher there.
Mrs Wm Davidson proprietor offers chicken dinner Sunday at the Galt Restaurant for 50 cents. Local notice promotes the event with details of price and venue.
