The fifth annual Boes reunion gathered 125 members at Carey park on Sunday September 2. A noon dinner preceded speeches recitals and songs and officers were elected for the next year with Chas Boes as president and Emma Boes as secretary. Relatives came from several towns and two honorary members were named.

Essex Williams families hold second reunion near Marseilles
The 1923 Essex Williams reunion gathered many relatives at Keseler grove, Carey and Marseilles area with visitors from Carey Tiffin Vanlue and Marion. Henry Williams of Marion led as president with Joseph Essex of Carey as vice president and D R Smith of Kenton as secretary treasurer. The main event featured a trio Earl Detwiller Malcolm Essex and William Perry with an address by Joseph Essex and plans for the Lincoln Park Marion gathering in August 1924. One death and no marriages occurred in the year.

Three Findlay Men Arrested for Drunkenness
Three Findlay men were arrested Saturday by Marshal Brown and jailed on drunkenness charges. They were in a car that stopped at Geiger's restaurant. one man drank coffee while intoxicated and another, deeply drunk in the rear seat, had to be carried to the town hall. Two received $5 fines plus $4 costs and the third, paralyzed, was fined $15 with costs.

Methodist Church Plans Family Day September 23
The first Sunday of the new conference year saw good attendance across services. Next Sunday the pastor will preach morning and evening, with Sunday School and Epworth League at their usual times. Family Day is set for Sunday September 23.

Carey Methodist Episcopal church begins building project
Work on the new Methodist Episcopal church in Carey starts with site clearing at E Findlay and Ss Patterson streets. Snyder Lumber Co. of Carey holds the general contract for a 52 by 109 foot Georgian Colonial structure, 75 thousand dollars estimated, featuring an oval veranda, Roman Doric columns, and a 430 seat main auditorium with 120 more in a balcony.

Cave Discovery Near Huffman Place Promises Pavilion
W E Kimmel of the Huffman area reports a cave on his farm opened to 18 feet with one 12 by 12 foot room found. He believes 11 rooms exist with a subterranean stream and plans extensive development and a pavilion.

Mrs Cora Baughman Buess Dies After Illness
Mrs Cora Baughman Buess, age 41, died Monday forenoon at her parents home four miles west of town after a years long illness. Born July 28 1882 in Hancock county she leaves her parents a son Arthur eight, and five siblings including Rev A T Baughman of Antopolis. Funeral at St Paul church with Rev A J Foreman officiating. Burial in adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers were her brothers Rev Baughman Clarence and Eugene Baughman and cousins Orley Clyde Searfoss Dunkirk and William Searforr Wharton.

Dog Killed After Jumping From Car In Town
Walter Roby of Sycamore picked up a dog believed to belong to F. C. Ditmeyer of Carey. The dog, left in a car near the post office, leaped into the path of a Snyder Lumber Co. truck. Police ended the animal’s pain by a swift club stroke. No owner identified.

Funeral held for John Zeller in Tiffin
Mrs Emeretta Brown and Mr and Mrs J F Brown attended the funeral of John Zeller at his home in Tiffin. Zeller, aged past 61, was cousin of the late George Brown of this city.
