The district reports a bid increase in first grade enrollment and outlines a Tuesday half day used for registrations. Wednesday totals show 280 at the high school, 250 at Colonel Crawford, and 103 at the West building with a long list of entering first grade pupils named.
Carpenters will begin late this week to complete remodeling started weeks ago at the Ewing drug store. Work paused for a stock cleanup sale, which was successful in every respect. A week or ten days should finish the changes.

Miss Ruth Clair Ingols well known dancing teacher from Upper Sandusky and Carey will open a dance studio here for regular lessons next Wednesday. Enrollment inquiries may be directed to Mrs Loren Stahl.
The will of Laura Stevens of Findlay probated in Hancock County sets a trust after debts paid. Trustees Charles F. Close E E Hershberger and Ed Schrote will convert the family home into a home for aged Protestant men and women from Wyandot Hancock and Seneca counties. The estate includes over 500 acres with inventory valued about 15000 to 20000 dollars.
Miss Margaret Brayton daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles L Brayton of Carey wed Harry W Ehrhart son of Mrs Emma Shively of Upper Sandusky Wednesday at 10 am. Rev Paul R Clouser conducted the ceremony with Mrs Clouser and Miss Catherine Pethe as witnesses. The bride is a Carey High School 1931 graduate and the groom a 1925 Upper Sandusky High School graduate. He works as a railway post clerk in Pittsburgh and the couple will reside there.
Thursday evening at 6 30 there will be a joint meeting of the Harding Area Council executive board and the Carey district at the Pilgrim House to honor C G Knoblock vice president of the area and Wyandot district chairman. Routine business will also be transacted.
Snyder Lumber Co begins construction on a new double house for Mrs. J Hilty of Pasadena California on W North Street. The lot was purchased from Harry Heck and the building sits opposite the Riley residence. Each apartment will have five rooms and a bath.
The Woman's Missionary Society of the Lutheran church met Wednesday afternoon in the parish house parlors. President Mrs Edward Riester led devotionals and Mrs J D Ewing guided the lesson study titled The Whole Program of Our Church. The meeting closed with the missionary benediction.
Alton Kinsinger, winner of the mid-summer contest at the Upper Sandusky fairgrounds, will be guest artist at the Wyandot county fair on Wednesday September 16 in the harmonica playing contest.
The CI. C class of Memorial Evangelical Sunday school will meet at Mrs. John Falkner’s home in Bucyrus on Friday September 18. This meeting was moved from September 11.

W Albert Hogle superintendent of the Findlay CCC camp began cleaning the South branch outlet on the Edgar Thomas farm in Hancock county. The project extends southeast about three miles into Seneca and Wyandot counties ending on the Base Line road. A 6 CCC crew under Walter Frost will work six hours daily with equipment supplied by the government. a second crew may follow. Landowners along the line praise the progress of the drainage improvement.

The Victory class of the M E Sunday school postpones its regular meeting from Thursday September 3 to Thursday September 10. The gathering will be held at the home of Mrs FE G Snyder.

The body of Ralph Schmuck 43, a former Carey resident, arrives today. Short funeral services will be at 2 30 p m at his sister Mrs Forest Dame s home on E South Street with Rev Paul R Clouser officiating. Burial follows in Spring Grove cemetery. He died Tuesday in Columbus from paralysis after a 20 year struggle. Survived by his father John Schmuck, daughter Miss Rosemary Schmuck, brothers Russell and Willis Schmuck, and sister Mrs Dame.
Friday morning, Harry Wyatt, Paul Goff and Herbert Newhard Sr., board of public affairs members, and W L Jefferson, superintendent of water and light, will visit Tiffin to confer with Ohio Power Co officials. The Carey focal light department suffers from insufficient current supplied by Ohio Power Co.
Members of the Carey I O O F lodge urged to attend a meeting tonight with the Wharton lodge expected to join and exemplify the second degree. Wharton conferred the first degree on Tuesday evening and will confer the second degree at Canton next Tuesday September 15. The team has a favorable reputation among area lodges.
