Wyandot County Fair opens with expanded harness races and events
The Wyandot County Fair begins Tuesday with an enlarged harness racing program boasting $11,200 purses. Judging starts 9:30 a.m. with cattle, sheep, poultry, and produce exhibits. Four racing afternoons run Wednesday through Saturday with new 2 and 3 year old events each day. Grand Parade set for Friday at 3 p.m. and Junior Fair Livestock Sale Saturday at 2 p.m. Night acts include Rotroff’s All Girl Thrill Show and wrestling and rodeo highlights across the week.

Ronald L. Nye and Rex J. Orians enlisted in the United States Marine Corps under the Buddy program. They started 12 weeks of recruit training at Parris Island and four weeks of advanced infantry training at Camp Lejeune. Five Year Old Treated After Gas Range Burns
Daniel Moran five year old son of Mr and Mrs Richard Moran of N Vance Street was taken to Wyandot Memorial Hospital Wednesday of last week for burns on his stomach right arm face lips and ears. He was playing with burners on a gas range when the accident occurred. He was released the next day and is recovering nicely.
