About 200 sparrows lodging near Chris Hucke's home southwest of town died after Friday night’s storm. The birds lay on the lawn and created an offensive odor by Sunday.

Donors Honor Shrine Through Varied Gifts
Pilgrims contributed to Our Lady of Consolation shrine during the novena with many gifts. Two large bronze Angels were donated by A. G. Collet of Carey and P. J. Hussey of Cleveland for the upper church entrance. Mrs. Geo. R. Grell of Cleveland gave new stations of the Cross in the old chapel. Donations funded a new monstrance by the Pfefferle children, and Miss Margaret Seubert of Columbus donated the Death of St. Joseph sculpture with its pedestal. Numerous silver and gold chalices from France drew further donors, including several Youngstown residents, Miss Anna Delmore, and others from Toledo, Akron, Corning, and Fostoria. each contributed altar cloths, many edged with handmade lace. The rector thanks all benefactors, praying for divine blessing on their generosity.

William E. May and Ada S. May sue Wyandot county in common pleas court over an auto crash on the Lincoln Highway west of town.
