Dow and Carothers report their Jer sey cow, exhibited at the Tiffin Fair last week, died on the premises. The animal was valued in the hundreds of dollars and had earned the highest honors at the Wyandot county fair last year.
A Crawford church social will be held Thursday evening on the church lawn with fried chicken sandwiches ice cream home made cake and other foods available for guests.
Vestaburg Michigan minister Rev. Joseph Robison will preach at Grace Chapel Sunday evening at 7 30. The service is scheduled for Grace Chapel and will be led by the visiting preacher from Vestaburg.
The McCutchenville Blues host the N S and S Monarchs at the local ball park on Sunday September 3. The Monarchs return to town for their first time since July 23 and have defeated strong foes this season as they near a three game city title series against Carey Tires beginning September 19.
The pastor attends the annual conference in Dayton this week. Tonight is church night with the official board in charge of services. All are urged to attend. Sunday morning features Sunday school only, and Sunday night the pastor preaches a Labor Day sermon.
The Carey Kiwanis Club noon gathering featured a Boy Scout committee program with J Prof Howard B Miller speaking on local troop aims. About 40 boys are enrolled as the troop grows and a second teacher may be added to support youth work.

The 15th annual Crist Amerine family reunion gathered about 100 relatives and friends at Carey park on a Saturday in August 1922. A noon basket meal, prayers, and a Ridge Quartet program followed, with officers elected for 1923 and plans set for the next reunion in August 1923 at Carey park.
Denny Donelson ten year old son of Mr and Mrs Wm Donelson was taken to Mercy Hospital Tiffin Sunday afternoon at 3 o clock and operated on for appendicitis at 4 o clock. He had been ill for several days and his condition was serious though not yet out of danger. He was accompanied by his parents Dr M N Zeis and W 12 Montague. Mr and Mrs Donelson and Mrs W E Montague visited him Wednesday.
Ralph Spears fourteen of Carey was sentenced Wednesday afternoon to the Lancaster industrial school after a juvenile court hearing held at the request of Judge Porter of Tiffin. He was charged with taking a horse that did not belong to him.
A Swerlein reunion at Carey Park drew 142 attendees. Joseph Houpt was elected president, Lawrence Houpt secretary, and Carl Swerlein treasurer. The next gathering will be held at Carey Park on the last Sunday in August.
Miss Eloise Thrall appointed to the Democratic party's women's state central committee from the Sun district attends a Columbus meeting of the committee at the Southern Hotel today.

The 18th annual convention of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Wyandot county meets Friday Sept 1922 at the John Stewart A E church in Upper Sandusky. The program runs from morning lessons and devotionals to talks, music, reports, and an evening address by Mrs Gleason and Dr Colley.
On Friday September 1 Post master Wm Zahn will retire after four years and hand the office to his son Norman who has assisted him and will act postmaster until a replacement is appointed. Zahn aims to join The Phelps Motor Co succeeding WH Phelps who moves to Foestoria to join Adams garage. D Hilty resigns to take a better post as Phelps assumes duties. Phelps leaves a large clientele and has shown salesmanship and mechanical skill.
Rev I H Amore and Rev New Perkins will attend the United Evangelical conference in Canton next week. Earl Rothgeb will go as a delegate from the local congregation and will apply for a license. He plans to enter college next year.

The Lutheran church announces regular services and activities. Sunday School convenes at 4 00 am with morning worship at 1015. Luther League meets at 6390, vesper services at 730, and a prayer service is held Thursday evening.

The Carey Tires defeated Sycamore-Belle Vernon 8 to 6 in a high scoring game at Belle Vernon. Carey pitchers struggled at times while Sycamore-Belle Vernon led with an early run but Carey responded with strong hits. Next Sunday the Tires travel to Findlay to face The Differentials and a fall series with the Monarchs is planned to decide the civic championship.
