The Carey Chapter Futura Homemakers of America held a potluck supper and a snappy program on Monday evening November 10. Donna MacGread welcomed guests, Phyllis Vaughn Dortha Wilson Evelyn Wilson and Marlene Lee sang as a vocal trio, Susanne Krupp performed a monologue, and an emblem ceremony was led by Barbara Platt Margaret Hucke Patsy Kurtz Virginia Albus Carole Walter Donna Nye Joyce Savidge Jeannine Brown Nancy Bauer Sue Gibson Sandra Bauer. Erlene Schlachter JoAnn Platt Janet Sizemora Dortha Wilson also participated. Dortha Wilson serves as club president with Thelma Hack as sponsor.
A group of Carey girls present a program explaining the F H A emblem over WMAN Marion tomorrow Friday November 21 at 12 30 p m. The event showcases school activities and airs on the local station.
The class tournaments have ended with champions in badminton. Noon badminton games pair boys and girls and proceed at full speed. Girls in gym classes begin shooting baskets as intramural basketball approaches, a yearly highlight for the Zins.
Choir practice and a business meeting were held Monday evening. Mrs Herbert Lenner, formerly the public health nurse of Seneca county, spoke on Growing Up. Mothers of Y Teen members attended and Joyce Myers and Harriett Bristoll led the program planning.
The close of marching season ushers in the concert season as the 75 piece band begins a string of concerts. Mr Hawk struggles to get the group to play softly as they transition from marching style to concert tone.
The first senior class party of the year was held Friday in the auditorium with a Thanksgiving theme. Games and dancing entertained attendees as refreshments of cider and doughnuts were served by the refreshments committee. Class sponsors Miss Helen Smith and Miss Thelma Clagett attended.
Revival services start Monday at 7 30 p m in St. Paul s E U B Church seven miles west of Carey or two miles south of Vantlue led by Rev C C Nichols of Upper Sandusky. Evening social by the young people accompanies each night and Rev V J Lathey is pastor.
Mrs. James Lindsay north east of Carey hosts the J. T. Club gathering this afternoon, inviting neighbors and friends for an informal social.
Carey businessmen launch Christmas promotions including Treasure Hunt on Friday, December 5, and Window Shopping Night with store displays and prizes. Tickets issued free starting November 21. drawings held December 5 and 6. Santa visits tree on Findlay and Vance streets with children’s orders.
The village council approved an off street parking space on the N Vance street lot across from the municipal building owned by the federal government. The businessmen's association urged the improvement to aid shoppers. Trees will be cut down drive and parking area surfaced for the Christmas season. Councilman Harry Rook and Mr Ridley then attended talks in Tiffin with Ohio Municipal League officials led by secretary Allen E Pritchard Jr. The league aims to improve cities and villages and Carey recently joined the group.
The National Council of Catholic Women and the Christian Mothers Society of Our Lady of Consolation parish sponsor the annual drive from November 23 to 30. Requested items include blankets heavy clothing and socks with contributions accepted at the pavilion by November 30. The council notes past aid worldwide including Vatican shipments and War Relief Services distribution.
Six young men registered with the Wyandot county selective service board traveled to Toledo on November 18 for pre induction physical examinations. The examinees were Justin Bernard Snyder of Forest, James Wilson Leslie of Upper Sandusky Route 3, Arnold Earl Riedel of Sycamore Route 3, Paul Quail Clinger of Upper Sandusky Route 6, Herbert Ray Stansbery of Upper Sandusky Route 6, and Bill McKenzie of West Middletown. McKenzie was listed for re examination.
Instruction forms for filing income tax returns have been mailed this year with the tax blank inside the form. Do not destroy these.
The Carey Band Mothers sponsor a benefit dance at the high school Friday evening November 28. The Note Crackers will play for both round and square dances and a cake walk is planned. Keep this date open.
The annual community Thanksgiving service will be held at Memorial E. U. B. Church at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 26. The Rev John A Root of Christ Lutheran Church will preach with assistants from Memorial Church and First Methodist Church. Special music is planned and offerings support Christian Rural Overseas Program and Lutheran World Relief. Public invited.
Junior class presents The Little Dog Laughed at Carey High School Auditorium on Friday November 21 1952 at 8 PM. Admission adults 50 cents reserved 50 cents children 3 cents. Play written by Vera and Ken Tarpley produced with Row Peterson Co. Cast features Laurie Huntington Sid Martha Wally Gus Joan Wood Ted L Wood Lillian Mark Bradford Horatio Honeywell and others with a light hearted plot about maturation and rivalry.
Revival services start December 2 at the Pentecostal Church of God on Shuman road northwest of Carey. Rev. Edgar Wilson from Michigan will lead the revival efforts.
The Christian Couples class of First Methodist Sunday school will hold a bake sale at the Harmony Shop Saturday morning starting at 9 30 oclock. Patrons are urged to attend and support the event.

Sister Alma Boarts of Glenwood Lutheran Church will be guest speaker at Christ Lutheran's Thank Offering services this Sunday at 8 15 and 10 30 a m. Born in Baltimore in 1923 she was consecrated a deaconess after training there and has since served Glenwood and various women’s organizations in the synod of Ohio. She will discuss her parish visitation institutional work and Bible school programs.
Mr and Mrs Shelby Hobbs rent the Kemerley property at Vance and Finilay streets moving December 1 from an Economy Market apartment. Mr Robert Gladden and sons Ronald William and Robert Allen occupy the second floor, having moved in Tuesday. Hobbs, Carey TV Service proprietor, hires Gladden, a former employer, to assist with radio and television work.
Crawford chapter No. 168 will hold a regular meeting and election of officers at 7 30 Friday evening. A pot luck supper precedes at 6 o'clock Members should bring a covered dish and their own table service. Mrs F L Moyer, Sec.

Pfc. Earl Dean Risner son of Mr and Mrs John Risner arrived in Korea from Japan on November 7 after several months in the Far East.
Notice states Dr. Talmadge Huston will be out of town from next Wednesday through the following Monday inclusive.
At the November meeting the Carey board of education approved actions to start a new building program. They notified the Wyandot county auditor to set a tax rate for state approval and moved to draft the bond sale resolution. Bonds may be sold in February 1953 with construction possibly starting next May after required legal steps.
The Rev. D. V. Whitenack returns Friday from Cleveland where he assisted with the Evangelistic Mission at Wade Park Methodist Church. The nationwide Methodist effort aims to spark deeper faith and Christian citizenship, stressing prayer and religion as life’s key. It has run in several districts and will reach Toledo in February.
Palm Leaf Rebekah lodge will meet Tuesday evening November 25 at 8 o clock in the t O O F hall for the second nomination of officers for the coming year. A social and program will follow honoring charter members and others who have been members since shortly after the lodge was instituted.
A Toledo Goodwill Industries truck will make a special trip to Carey on Thursday December 4 to pick up reusable clothing shoes furniture and discarded items for the handicapped training and employment program. The Carey Farmers' Community club will meet Monday evening at the K of C hall. Committees will include Program Edward Beard Paul Enders and Karl Kraus of Upper Sandusky with Refreshments by Robert Mott Floyd Shetler and Dean Wisner.
Pythian Sisters Carey temple No. 169 holds first officer nominations this evening at 8 o clock. Members urged to attend and fulfill duties. Reporter Sarah Suber notes the call to be present.
The Elks announce a 6:30 p.m. potluck supper at the Elks Home in Upper Sandusky followed by the annual feather party and dance. All Elks and their wives are invited.
