New Seats For Grammar School Classrooms
The grammar school has bought sixty No Noise seats from the Andrew Company of Chicago for two rooms taught by Miss Bertha VanHeyde and Miss Jessie Muliholand. Old seats, in use for over twenty years, are too small and will be moved to other rooms while the new ones are installed for larger pupils.

Mrs Mary B Nigh died Monday at three after two years of illness. Born December 15 1827 near Crawford she was the widow of Cassius M Fisk later married to Aaron Nigh dying 1901. Funeral at United Brethren church with Interment at Spring Grove cemetery. Auction notice lists farm, livestock and equipment for December 1 1908 near Carey with terms and bidders.

Thank Offering Service at Lutheran Church
A Thank Offering service last Thursday at the Lutheran church drew a large audience. The program included piano solos by Ruth Ewing, a talk by Rev. Spaid on Saint Offerings, piano duets by Dorothy Brown and Della Newcomer, violin and piano pieces, vocal solos, and readings. Contributions from the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society raised over forty two dollars.

Catherine Huff Dies in Carey at 73
Miss Catherine Huff died Monday at nine o'clock at the home of her cousin W. T. Bluff. She was 73 years, 2 months, and 26 days old and had lived in Carey about four months. Short funeral services were held there and the remains were taken to Arlington for interment.

Old Folks Rally Held by Rev Downey in Vanlue
Rev DW Downey of Westerville led an Old Polk s Rally and communion service at the United Brethren church of Vanlue last Sunday evening. He began his Vanlue circuit service forty years ago this fall. Findlay Man Curtis Baker Dies at 75 Due to Paralysis
Curtis Baker died at his daughter Bris Minnie Wiley’s Findlay home last Friday morning. He was about seventy five, born on the old Baker farm three miles north of town now occupied by J. W. Eyestone. He was uncle of Welington Baker of this place.

Kicked by a Horse Near Town
A. Chesebrough, at his daughter Mrs. Forest Baker’s home, was kicked by a horse while assisting to collar a newly arrived colt. The initial kick left him unconscious and rib injuries. he later improved after treatment, and by Monday he was able to be up and dying nicely.
