Carey Falls 14 to 7 to Upper in Local Football Game
Carey lost to Upper 14 to 7 on the local field Tuesday afternoon before about 1500 spectators. Upper opened with a 15 yard drive to Carey’s 23 and a touchdown with the extra point. Strasser later scored for Upper on a 1 foot plunge, and Michaels added the extra point. Carey answered with a late first half drive but the score at the end of the half remained 7 to 7. In the second half Michaels plunged in for a TD from the 3 yard line. A late field goal attempt by Wolfe was wide. The game ended with Upper on Carey’s 29 yard line and both teams penalized 30 yards.

Snowy Friday night saw Daisy Maes and Li l Abners hurry to the Sadie Hawkins dance in the school cafeteria. Mr and Mrs Arthur N Stevens return to Carey to live in the former J C Dow home on W Findlay. natives of the area they spent 32 years in Illinois and Oklahoma. Mrs Stevens maiden name Missouri Newman. They moved from Cleveland Oklahoma where Stevens was Selby Oil and Gas superintendent for 20 years. He began in oil in 1901 in the Lovell field south of Carey.
