The Carey fire department responded to a blaze at the B. F. P. Kitzler residence on S Patterson street Saturday after noon. Sparks from burning leaves set fire to a corner of the house damaging the siding attic and corral post with about 15 dollars in logs burned.

Halloween Celebration Delights Carey With Parades and Prizes
A Thursday night Halloween festival in Carey drew a large crowd despite rain postponing the event from Wednesday. Local organizers, decorations by Mrs Perry McDaniel and Mrs Richard Frederick, and loudspeakers supplied by Ohio Oil fueled a parade along Findlay and Vance streets with music from Attica and Carey bands. Prizes totaling over 300 dollars honored diverse costumes including the Dionne quintuplets lookalikes, with local merchants and schools sharing top awards.
