The Junior class at Carey High School welcomes two new students. Keith Shultz moved from Missouri to Carey. Ruth Fisher arrived from Kirby to Carey, joining the junior class.
The driving class under Mr. Cupp trains students in parking amid nerves. The piece frets over fender benders and curb damage while noting the possibility that capable women drivers may graduate from the class.
On Thursday morning October 30 Agriculture classes toured Cook-Walton Angus farm west of Carey. Mr. Cook described herd operations, feeding program, and housing of his beef herd, with the trip proving educational and interesting.
F H A members host a potluck for members and parents on November 10 at 6 30 pm in the high school cafeteria. A play titled The Turkey Globbers will be performed by F H A members and a king queen and princess will be chosen from among fathers mothers and members. Miss Hack serves as advisor.
The G A A outlines plans for a snake dance tonight including a parade through town a bonfire and a pep rally. Committees are set to organize and draw a large turnout to back the football team for the Upper vs Carey game tomorrow night.
The Carey Blue Devil Band joined the team Friday night in Bluffton for a half time performance themed Music in the Sky. They depicted a star crescent moon sunrise and a mountain and will travel to Upper Sandusky next week for the final program of the year.
Y Teens held their first meeting on Monday October 26 to form an a capella choir and discuss Juvenile Delinquency. The gathering opened with devotions followed by a short business session and ended with a friendship circle.
The Hi-Y club supports the school bond issue. Members Bob Cole Jim Patterson John Romig and Elmer Gartner spoke in assembly on the topic. The club will send a care package overseas with clothes soap canned food toothpaste towels and washcloths. Pastor Root addressed the group on Crisis in Morley.
The Carey Woman's Christian Temperance Union will meet with Mrs. Galen Bame in Alvada on Friday at 1 30 p m. Mrs. William Yingling will lead the devotions. Those needing transportation may contact Mrs. Whitemack at 252.
Dr Joseph Sittler delegate from United Lutheran Church in America to the Lutheran World Federation Assembly in Hannover will address the Post Hannover conference at Trinity Lutheran Church Findlay tonight at 8. Rev Theophil Arthur Kreuger of the American Lutheran Church and Rev John A Root chair the program. Several local auto loads will attend. Dr Littler born in Ohio studied at Wittenberg College and Hamma Divinity and has taught systematic theology at Chicago Lutheran Seminary since 1943.
Electric service in Carey was disrupted at about 4 a m when an Ohio Power line broke and a pole burned to the ground. Crews shifted to an emergency line and restored service about an hour and a quarter later. The cause was undetermined.

The Elks lodge of Upper Sandusky will host a party for members and guests after the Upper Carey football game Friday evening. Miss Virginia Kennedy of Bucyrus will play the Hammond organ at the event.
Carey residents enjoyed a well attended Halloween festival with prizes totaling about 150 dollars. Miss Mary Kaye Bishop led the grand costume win while others received cash awards for robot, bedtime scene, and group displays. Schools praise pupil participation and promise higher planning for next year as business sponsors contribute generously.
An effort to organize a Cub Scout pack in Carey for all Catholic boys ages 8 to 10. Parents of eligible boys are urged to meet at Our Lady of Consolation school at 7 30 this Thursday evening. Bruce Fails of Marion and other scouters will explain the Cubbing program and how sons may join.
Last Thursday three Wyandot county young men were inducted in Toledo. They are Harold Eugene Shaffer of Carey, William LeRoy Everhart of Upper Sandusus, and Ronald Bilton Koshler of route 4 Upper Sandusky.
Carey voters backed a school bond issue of 480 thousand dollars in a sweeping GOP victory. The Ohio Supreme Court refused to review the appeal of S. L. Powers and let stand a 12000 damage award to Berteena Haws for the death of her husband John Haws and two others in a truck automobile collision August 5, 1950 at the Route 00 N and 281 intersection between Upper Sandusky and Bucyrus. The case involved claims the truck swerved into the westbound car and no witnesses testified to the crash.
The Wyandot county common pleas court in Upper Sandusky, presided by Judge Russell H Kear, awarded $12,000. The decision was upheld on appeal by Judges Guernsey Middleton and Ahl and affirmed by the Ohio Supreme Court with T D Romig as jury foreman. Mrs. L. L. Bland and Mrs. Girard Rickle also served on the jury.
A Kentucky Mountain Holiness group will hold services at Oaks Grove Church northwest of Carey over Friday Saturday and Sunday evenings starting at 7 30. They will bring a truck for their usual provisions load.

Pvt Paul R Griffin son of Mrs Raymond Casper of Adrian is doing 8 weeks of basic training at Camp Breckinridge Kentucky before clerk-typist school. A Fort Meade announcement misidentified his post as Fort Eustis Virginia. Mrs Casper received a photo and a letter urging support for officer candidate school.
A September survey by First Methodist and Christ Lutheran Churches shows 1198 Methodist preference, 1113 Lutheran preference, 621 EUB, 1267 Roman Catholic, 109 Church of God, 105 Pentecostal Church of God, 41 Nazarene, 86 other churches, 156 with no church relation. Missed families Tally 7 EUB, 35 Lutheran, 24 Methodist. 100 new EUB, 49 Lutheran, 56 Methodist prospects. Pastors thank survey workers and community cooperation.
The Past Chiefs association of Carey temple No 1469 Pythian Sisters will hold a rummage sale Thursday November 13 from 130 am to pm in the K of P hall. A regular meeting of the association will be held at 4 oclock followed by a potluck supper.

Carey Blue Devils poured in 53 points at Bluffton on Friday night with scoring by Dwight Nye two passes from Dick Dennison and Skip Williams, Bicb Cole two, and runs by Dwight Oriang and Stanley Platt. Bluffton struggled offensively despite a brief productive drive.
Carey travels to Upper on Friday November 7 for a high stakes game with both teams at seven wins and one loss. Upper comes off a 27 to 0 win over Shelby and is favored to win on paper.
