The Junior-Senior Banquet was held in the high school auditorium on May 24. Decor included a moon and stars over the island of Hawaii and the Waa hea beach. Entertainment featured Welcome by George Jacobs, remarks by Miss Lucia Grieser, sopranos and duets, a Hawaiian dance, and dancing to Mack Finch’s orchestra.

Kiwanians Visit Findlay Club
Ten Carey Kiwanis members visited the Findlay Kiwanis luncheon at the Elk's Home. They presented the treasure chest from Napoleon Kiwanis to Findlay, which will pass it to Fostoria. The chest, filled with fines from minor offenses, should total about $500 by the fall state convention for the club with the best merit-to-membership ratio, to aid child welfare. John Updegraff buys Scott Buckland’s trucking business and will take possession June 1. Walter Buckland has operated the trucks in recent days while Don Bates moves on to other work. Edward Collet moved to Omaha hospital after train collision
The Rev Edward Collet ofm conv was seriously injured May 11 when struck by a train in Ansley Nebraska. He was moved from St Francis hospital Grand Island to St Joseph's hospital Omaha where his condition improved and he will undergo surgery to repair a left arm broken in three places. His mother Mrs M Collet and his sister Miss Teresa returned home from Grand Island Tuesday evening.

Memorial plaque updated for World War I and II veterans
Earl Green post 344 American Legion updates its bronze memorial plaque to include United States service in both World Wars. The new dates 1914 1918 and 1941 1945 appear, and the inscription honors those who gave lives and served in the armed forces during the wars. The plaque sits on a temporary concrete base by Memorial Park as Memorial Day services are planned. It previously served Spring Grove events and rested in the Legion hall.

Joyce Myers daughter of Forest and Mrs Myers northwest of Carey won 10 dollars for second place in the State Farmers Institute Poster contest among high school grades 10 to 12.
