Commencement Exercises for Carey High School Class of 1917
The Carey High School Class of 1917 held baccalaureate services at the Lutheran church with a large turnout. Pastors from four churches attended as Supt. Beitler and teachers ushered the graduates in to hymns. Rev. J. Shock delivered the sermon on God’s plan for life, stressing that each person has a divine path. The following evenings featured Class Day at Catholic Hall with blue and gold colors, an orchestra, and speeches including Orville Dunlap’s survey of Russia.

Red Cross Meeting Names Officers In Upper Sandusky
The Sycamorse Leader reports a Red Cross meeting at the library selecting Judge Charles F. Close as chairman Miss Mary Mathews as vice chair Curtis B. Hare as treasurer Miss Florence Ellis as secretary and an executive committee. June 3 is Red Cross Sunday with special church services planned. The article notes the Red Cross aids life saving and relief in disasters and that since 1905 it has served in 86 disasters and spent over 15 million dollars.

Pilgrimage From Lima to Carey Shrine Set For Sunday
A large pilgrimage will depart Lima on Sunday led by Judge 3 and Rev Father Mizer, traveling via Northern Ohio lines to Carey. The Carey parish will greet pilgrims at Water Works crossing and escort them to the shrine for a High Mass by Rev Louis H Yauss. The Lima Coldwater choir join for music as Rev Father Fridolin of Indianapolis and Rev Father Fish and Philip deliver the sermon. Carew parish ladies plan to serve dinner.
