Three Fire Calls Struck Carey on Sunday
The Carey fire department answered three calls Sunday including a house on wheels four miles south of town that burned with its contents. Russell Wickiser had been living there since his father was sent to a sanitarium. A Bowman residence blaze started from furnace sparks and was stopped by neighbor Porter Hendricks and Mr Swartz before firefighters arrived.

Desertion and Non Support Arrest in Carey
James E. Wright was arrested by Marshal Robert O'Connor on a warrant from his wife Mary Wright of Keyser West Virginia charging desertion and non support for three children aged 14 11 and 7. He was handed to a deputy sheriff and taken to Upper Sandusky after work at Carey Greenhouses. Wright had moved to Carey about a year ago to work for the A C Y and prior to that worked on a Maryland railroad. He arrived with a young woman believed to be his wife and they lived with Miss Mary Braun on Clay Street where a child was born last fall.
