Wyandot County City Council Meeting Proceedings Report
The Wyandot county council met Monday with Mayor Wonder and clerks present. Bills paid include trash hauling and street cleaning. an appropriation of five dollars per concert was approved for band events. Mrs Mary Moster and daughter Miss Jessie Siddal visited Marion and left a contract with W H Snyder to build a two story brick business room replacing the condemned structure that housed the 5 and We store. The new 18 by 80 foot space will have a steel ceiling on the lower floor. The torn building once stood as a lean-to to Jacob Hilty’s harness shop on the Chesebrough & Bish grocery site and was once D. H. Straw’s general store.

A Tuesday social at the Masonic hall brought together a large number of Masons and Easter Star members and their families. The Frances Willards group met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs Ralph Brown of south of town. Readings on alcohol were shared and Mrs F S Powell and Mrs Ralph Brown provided piano and vocal duets. The next meeting will be with Mrs We Starr on June 2.

Memorial Sunday observance at G A R hall and Lutheran church
Veterans gathered at the G A R hall at 9 45 followed by a memorial service at the Lutheran church at 10 15 conducted by Rev E Luther Spaid. Knights of Pythias escorted the procession under Elza Jacobs. A thoughtful sermon referenced the stones from the Jordan crossing and urged continued remembrance of Memorial Day and its principles. The large choir led by G V Sutphen sang America and other hymns.
