Railway report notes a break in the air system of a Big Four freight train Monday afternoon. Crossings at Sautti Find lay and Patterson streets were held for about three quarters of an hour, delaying traffic and halting engine movement from the round house.
Pastor Luther Churop will broadcast Thursday at noon from We Owatu. The son of Mrs Lizetta Speaker, he formerly led the local Lutheran church and will present about a 20 minute talk with a few hymns.
J W Brown has purchased the pressing shop owned by Mr and Mrs H C Graves east of the Big Four restaurant. Browns son will run the shop which also operates as a dry cleaning and laundry agency. The Graveses are moving to Newark, their former home.
The Morehart family reunion will be held Sunday June 26 at Carrey Park.
Degh S Presler died in a San Francisco hospital Friday after sudden indigestion and heart pains. He was born in Berwick Ohio forty two years ago, a son of Newton and Hattie A Presler, and leaves a mother, a brother M Presser of Globe Arizona, and two daughters Harriet A and Esther H. Funeral services were held Monday May 16 under Masons auspices, with burial at San Francisco cemetery.
Daily ice deliveries will begin June 1 1927 with regular daily service throughout the year. The ice house will be open Sunday mornings until 10 o clock but no deliveries occur on Sundays. Hang your delivery card early to avoid missing a shipment. The Carey Mill and Elevator Co.

The Garey schools held commencement exercises featuring twenty eight graduates and a large audience. Carey high school marked its first class in 1886 with no graduations in 1888 and 1889 due to curricular changes. the class of 1927 is among the largest to finish in the local public schools.
Chas W Cookson of Urbana public schools spoke at a class address highlighting the difference between character and reputation. He urged parental moral influence, warned against wild oats, and urged generous support for youth education suggesting the motto go on go on 20 on.
Richard King son of Mr and Mrs A J King a junior in Ohio State College of Engineering is among 15 newly elected members of Texnikoi the honorary senior engineering fraternity The selection honors undergraduates for achievement and potential in engineering King also becomes secretary of the Men's Glee Club and president of the Engineer's Council He is active in Architect's Club Sun Dial Scabbard and Blade Cadet Officers Club Boost Ohio and Alpha Phi Chi.
Mrs George Constier presented a vocal graduation recital at Findlay college chapel Tuesday evening. She was supported by Prof Addison Alspach, Rev. Paul Clouser, Miss Velma Sloman, Miss Coretta Powell, Miss Lucy Laughlin, Mr. Dan Powell, and many local residents including Mr and Mrs Gust Summit and Mr and Mrs C R Tate.

A sensational note from Carey Ohio describes a theft of Our Lady of Consolation and a ransom plot. Police say two youths and a supposed messenger were involved, with a mysterious letter exposing the plan and a suspect held on $5000 bond. Fingerprints and checks were traced to Detroit and Cincinnati transit.
Russell Newhard and Ada Walter Russell Newhard attended the ONU commencement. Ada Walter Russell Newhard, son of the postmaster and Mrs Herbert Newhard, earned a PhD in the department of pharmacy. Russell was active in the Franklin Literary Society Sienna Phi Epsilon and Northern Players and contributed to the Northern Annual and Review.
Saturday afternoon DP A W Balsley found it necessary to sever the upper lip membrane of Virginia Ann Elchert six days old. The membrane bound the upper jaw and could not be stopped. Accompanied by her father Dr Balsley and nurse Miss Pfeiffer they were taken to Tiffin where Dr Daniels performed a blood transfusion from the father.
All members of the K of C are requested to attend the meeting Friday night. An address will be given by Special Supreme Agent Daniel Butler of Toledo.
CI and Kessler made a business trip to Toledo on Wednesday. J C Palmer and son George visited in Toledo Sunday at the home of his sister Mrs Almon Blue and family. The Loyal Workers Class of the Evangelical Sunday School will meet Friday evening at Mrs Claude Johnson’s home. a pot luck will be served.
Plans move forward for the Pioneer Picnic to be held Thursday June 9. Ohio Archaeological and Historical Society secretary C B Galbreath will give the address. Col Wm Crawford Chapter of the City Rev[e] will place a marker at the monument to Cal Crawford. Music will be provided.
The first proclamation designates May 30 as Memorial Day with sacred duties to guard graves and adorn hallowed grounds. Citizens are urged to gather at Water Works Park Pavilion at 2:30 p.m. for songs, readings, and a veterans’ program led by Rev. Aloys M. Fish with Legion members meeting at 1:30 p.m. to march.
Robert Milton Eby died at his Patterson and South streets home after heart trouble and paralysis. Funeral services were held at his residence, with burial at St. Paul cemetery south of Vanlue. Born November 12, 1850, he was 76 years old. He married Rebecca Hart in 1877. she died in 1927. One son died in infancy, and nine cousins survive him. He and his wife had recently lived with Mr and Mrs George Reed in Springfield, then with Reed in Carey during his final illness.
James Fetters Sidney Beebe Jack Heck and others from the Pioneer Boys traveled with Y M C A Secretary A C McQuarte of Upper Sandusky to Findlay for an educational tour visiting local manufacturing plants.
