Legion seeks flowers for Decoration Day decor

Earl Green of the American Legion asks all who want to contribute flowers for Decoration Day to send them to the Legion Rooms by Monday morning or call Snyder Lumber Co offices during the week. Home 49 and Mutual 121 are listed. volunteers will call for the flowers on Monday. The Legion decorates graves of all soldiers in all wars.

High School To Offer Winter Lecture Course

Directors of Liberty Airless discuss current and contract loss

Francis, Quinn and R. L. Kroesen of Cleveland and R. L. Giles of New London attended a meeting of Liberty Airless Corporation directors last Thursday. They discussed the electric current situation and reported the firm lost a contract for 100 tires a day because production cannot start by June 1.

The Liberty Airless Corporation last week shipped an order of tires to Kabstany Beirut Syria. The plant is preparing for capacity production as soon as electric current is available. A 240 h. p. motor has been set and electrical fixtures are being installed in fine shape.

Carey to host Printz Beiderman cloak factory

The Printz Beiderman Co. of Cleveland plans a Carey factory by mid summer after talks with the Chamber of Commerce. Mrs Flossa Roper Washburn of Kenton is arranging applicants as a plant and building are prepared. The move promises better working conditions and town prosperity with Huston leading ongoing projects.

Lightning Strikes Lake Street House Damaging Home

A lightning bolt struck the Jack Walters residence on Lake street Monday around 5 PM. The house split in two places with chimney collapse, siding and plastering damage, and fire from the telephone and electric supplies. Family members were indoors but unharmed. Illa Saw a ball of fire and bricks fly during the strike.

The Home Missionary Society of the Methodist church met May 12 with Mrs. S. R and Mrs. E. C. Walker presiding. Readings covered Visiting in Chinatown Alaska's Tomorrow Alaska's Gold Wayside Stations in Alaska and How Pete Burgara Saved Unalaska. Enigmas aided by Mrs. Heck as quartet performed. Contributions totaled 42.78 with plans for a tea in June.

Storm Strikes Barn Near Wharton Burns Barn and Implements

A regular storm hit Monday afternoon as lightning struck George Yentzer’s barn two and a half miles east of Wharton. The barn burned to ashes with contents destroyed. no livestock present. A chimney at J C Troup’s Pitt township farm was badly shattered. Government gauge at Upper Sandusky recorded 1.88 inches of rainfall for Monday and Monday night.

A quail and a hen share ownership of a nest in an unspecified location within Wsandot county. Eaen has laid seven eggs and the pair is now incubating and hatching them. Further developments will be awaited with interest.
