Local Fisherman Nets Large Catch at Elaika Lake

Elmer Rothgeb of Spokane and his son Harold returned from Gray's Landing at Elaika Lake with about 150 fish including perch and sunfish. The largest fish measured 10 inches. They arrived home May 14 after a two week visit with Harold, his wife, and daughters Marilyn and Nancy.

Paul Theis Escorts Colonel Turner at Vienna Ceremony

Paul Theis son of Albert and Mrs Theis of Tiffin escorted Colonel Roscoe Turner during a Vienna ceremony May 17 where Turner received the Paul Tissandier Diploma from the Federation Aeronautique Internationale for contributions to private and sporting aviation. Theis, now chief administrator to Congressman Oliver Bolton, returned to Air Force duty as a first lieutenant during the trip which included a U S Air Force facilities inspection by Major General Albert Boyd.
