Bishop Karl Alter of Toledo confirmed a class of 92 children at Our Lady of Consolation Church in Carey last Thursday. The service included episcopal visitation and Solemn High Mass with Fr. In the Sandusky Poppy Shop veterans at the home form poppies for sale on Poppy Day May 23. Six workers per table mass produce centers petals stems and packaging with In Memoriam 1942 and American Legion labels. About 390 World War veterans earn one cent per poppy to buy glasses teeth and clothing, supporting family visits and pride.

Social Security Representative To Hold Carey Office Hours

A Social Security Board field office representative will hold hours at Carey Municipal Building on Wednesday May 20 from 3 p m. Ray V. Haning Marion field office manager announced the event. Women taking jobs in stores offices and factories must have Social Security account cards under old age and survivors insurance. Cards issued in Marion daily 8 30 a m to 5 p m and Saturdays 8 30 a m to 12 30 p m.

The American Legion and allied groups invite the public to a Sunday May 17 ceremony at 3 00 p m in Carey High School auditorium honoring local service members. Community Mass Meeting Honors Carey Service Men

Sunday at 3 oclock in the Carey high school auditorium a mass meeting honors local men in the U S armed services. Supt Earl B Driver chairs with sponsors including Catholic and Protestant churches, business leaders, schools, Earl Green Post 344 of the American Legion and affiliates. The program features band music, patriotic songs, prayers, talks by Rev M Paul Paetznick and Rev Donald W Cryer, readings of service names, and a letter to service members for parents to send to sons.

Wool Purchases Hit Eighty Thousand Pounds in Spring

Kittens Ride on Big Four Locomotive

Three kittens found tucked under the boiler of New York Central Lines freight No. 150 in Sandusky after the train from Carey arrived Tuesday evening. The kittens belong to a mother cat living at the local roundhouse and were warmed under the boiler Monday night. The crew believes two kittens did not survive the trip and the remaining trio were returned to Carey Thursday afternoon with the mother cat waiting on the tracks.
