Men’s Night Program at Methodist Church This Thursday

The Methodist church hosts its final indoor program of the year on Thursday at 7 p.m. The feature menu includes strawberry shortcake. Initiation Sunday At Eagles Lodge In Area

Between 25 and 30 candidates will be initiated Sunday afternoon by the Eagles lodge. The meeting will be held at the high school auditorium. Candidates come from Upper Sandusky Bucyrus Marion Kenton and Carey with the Tiffin drill and degree team in charge. A parade from the lodge room to the auditorium precedes the initiation. Free pick up and delivery to start on New York Central lines

The New York Central lines will begin free pick up and delivery service effective May 25. C M Brown will handle freight in Carey with all freight charged at 30 cents per hundred within Carey corporate limits. The 5¢ rebate clause is abolished when patrons handle their own freight.

Pilgrimage Ends Sunday at Our Lady of Consolation Shrine

Nearly 4 000 pilgrims visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation as the 61st spring pilgrimage opened. Rev Fr Paul Vollrath announced steady growth since 1875 with trains and buses from Detroit Cleveland and Indianapolis. The week featured devotional services a Patronal Feast mass and a Sunday procession closing with benediction.
