Carey Jaycees released January survey results with 283 responses. Data cover business diversification, store conditions, parking impact, professional services, shopping share, employment, education recreation health, and community priorities including industry growth and street/traffic issues.
Seventy seven CHS seniors will receive diplomas at the 75th commencement Monday evening May 22 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Myers was named president of the Carey Jaycees at a Wednesday evening gathering at the Odd Fellows Hall. Elected with him for the coming year were Charles Buckland as vice president Gene Hoopf as secretary Earl Schmitz as treasurer and Earl Doppler as director. Doyle Army Strong of Tiffin urged support in the district I race. May 21 was set as a tentative Teen Road-eo date with Schmitz as chairman. The group donated 40 to the Buckeye Boys State Fund and will sponsor a slow pitch softball team with Lawrence Mates as captain.
The Carey High School Alumni banquet and dance are set for Saturday evening May 27 at the high school. The banquet served by the Carey Band Mothers begins at 7 p.m. and the dance at 9 p.m. The Bobby Nelson Quartet provides music. Tickets for the dance are sold until the event. banquet reservations must be made before May 24. Contact Harry's Pharmacy or Mapes Rexall Drug for tickets and reservations. Officers: Mike Ball president Ralph Musgrave Jr vice president Glenda Smiley secretary Carol Prescott treasurer. Committees are appointed to finalize plans.
The Carey Shuffleboard Club holds its first season meeting at 8 pm tomorrow at the Shelterhouse Ca rey Memorial Park. A brief business and social gathering will include dues payment and light refreshments provided by local residents.
Revival services begun Sunday May 7 at the Church of God of Prophecy 212 W Brown Ave continue. Evangelist Mrs Verda Camink of Mansfield leads the gatherings.

Carey village council awarded the sanitary sewerage collection system upgrade to J F Dible Co for 13,720 in regular session May 1. McGill and Smith engineers recommended the bid, which covered four items including lift station upgrades and new pipes. Other bids were K and P Excavating 18,316 and Hanagan Co 18,000. The project aims to prevent basement flooding west of Vance Street and eastward. The state renewed the discharge permit only to July 15 pending stabilization pond feasibility and updated treatment plans. McGill outlined pond costs and potential sites while noting ponds cannot handle grease and blood loads. Gas rates in Carey stay unchanged June through August.
Billie Jean Clark ranks first in Carey High School's 77 member graduating class with a straight A average. Barbara Wise places second. Billie Jean won a four year Ford Motor Co. scholarship. both are National Honor Society members.
Judith Kitchel daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Kitchel of route 2 northwest of Carey will graduate May 28 as valedictorian of Vanlue High School. Judy has a 4 year average of 3.915. May Van Horn daughter of Mr and Mrs Ralph Van Horn of Vanlue will be salutatorian with an average of 3.850.
Carey Park Board recommends park enhancements to the village council including a playground, new water line and drinking fountain near the ball diamond, horseshoe court, score board letters, and more lights. Members listed are Harry Fabiani chair. Mrs. Charles Heck. Elroy Kitzler. Ferdinand Williams. Dr. H R Wenner resigned last week due to other duties.
The Carey post office at N Vance and W North Streets will be dedicated Saturday July 15 as part of the American Legion Homecoming. The Earl Green Post sponsors the event with planning led by chair William Hershman under Ray Peiffer.
The Wyandot County Dairy Service Association sponsors a Dairy Princess pageant to be held May 23. Applicants must have a dairy farm background be 16 to 25 as of Oct 1 1961 single high school graduate and healthy. Applications due May 21 at the Wyandot County Extension Office with entry blanks score sheet and qualifications. The winner receives 25 cash and the alternate 10. Local Dairy Service Association and Northwestern Sales Association sponsor prizes. The princess advances to the Ohio Dairy Princess contest in Columbus on June 23 and 24.
Carey High School alumni from the class of 1951 will hold a 10th anniversary banquet in the Hotel Carey dining room at 6 30 p m Saturday May 27. The dinner will precede the Alumni Dance at the high school auditorium. Reservations must be made with James Hall by May 20.

A rummage sale sponsored by Van Wert Mothers Club runs Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dible's Appliance Store to raise funds for the Jr Sr prom.
Dr. Howard C. Perkins, Penn lecturer on international relations since 1949 and Carey High School graduate in 1920, will address the 75th annual commencement at Carey High School Auditorium on Monday May 22 at 8 PM.
