County Pending Ditch Petition Sets May View in Two Townships
In Salem and Crawford townships a petition by H. L. Myers and others for a ditch was filed and will be considered May 27. Probate division reports ten marriage licenses issued in April, down from 13 last year. Mrs. Walter McClain died in Mifflin township, born June 24, 1894 in Hardin county. Col. James T. Close of Upper Sandusky completed 39 years as Crawford county court stenographer. no successor yet.

War Department announces Sergeant Earl Adelsperger of Carey Ohio in Company C 125th Infantry 32nd Division received the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism near Gesnes France October 9 1918. He led a reconnaissance patrol into enemy lines faced heavy fire then returned to guide his men to safety and carry a wounded comrade to safety.
