The Callmission Company Garey replaces a 15 ton Howe elevator scale with a 50 ton Toledo scale. Niederkohr Brothers, Inc. began work two weeks ago, Snyder Lumber poured concrete last Thursday, and the new scale will be ready this week. The large top surface accommodates semis and fertilizer loads as well as farm grain needs. The old Howe scale was original equipment.

Accidental Shooting Injures Grandfather Near Carey Ohio
Wyandot County deputies ruled the Saturday shooting accidental after 14 year old Richard Kirian was loading a .22 rifle on his porch and a bullet struck his grandfather, Adam Kirian, in the yard. The elder Kirian was treated at Blanchard Valley Hospital and listed in good condition.

Two Vehicle Crashes and Minor Injuries Reported
Two separate accidents occurred on May 3, one on East Finney Street at 10 40 am involving Howard Snyder and a Buick causing 500 dollars in damage to Snyder's car and minor injuries to eight year old Teresa Russell. The Carey Volunteer Fire Department fought a grass and corn field fire on the James Traxler property along County Road 96 on May 3 reporting at 3 pm. A Frank Heck owned auto in Foodland parking lot escaped serious damage with 14 volunteers aiding on May 4 at 12 48 pm.
