Pilgrims Attend Spring Pilgrimage at Shrine of Consolation

Robbed by Gypsies on South Street Incident
John Crawford, staying at the Elmer Daring home on South Street, was approached by a carload of three women and a man who asked for Dr. Smith and offered a back cure. Carey Community Chest Holds Fourth Annual Meeting
The Carey Community Chest held its fourth annual meeting at the library last Thursday evening with many citizens present and representatives from sponsoring organizations. Rev. Cyprian Terwoord chaired the gathering as reports from officers and beneficiary groups were reviewed. Since its 1933 inception the Chest has streamlined local charitable activities and created an efficient financing system, sustained by volunteer service and loyal Carey citizens. The Executive Board consists of nine members serving three-year terms with three retiring each year and three new members elected this year: Rev. Marion E. Tinsler, Harold Houk and Mrs Richard Frederick.

The Carey high school Alumni Association will host a benefit dance Friday evening May 14 at the high school auditorium. Admission is 25 cents with proceeds supporting a banquet honoring the senior class of 1937. Part of the auditorium will be used for dancing and cards will be played in another area.
