Pioneer Picnic Scheduled by Local Association

The Pioneer Association meets at the People's Bank Saturday at 1 00 pm with W J Baker as president and G W Beis as secretary. William T. Nowlan father of A J Nowlan city superintendent died at his home in Eagle township Hancock county early Sunday. Born Jefferson county March 2 1825 he moved to Hancock county seventy three years ago. Civil War veteran Co K 62nd O V I funeral at family home near Rawson survived by widow and five children aged 86 years 1 month 5 days.

Boy Hurt by Horse and Buggy in Springfield Street Crowd

Wednesday evening last week Mrs Gordon Hickle and her son George Tr of Springfield were alighting a street car when a man drove a horse and buggy into the crowd. George was thrown down and his leg injured. he could not move it for several days and will be unable to walk for some time.
