Women Bowlers Celebrate Banquet With Awards Prizes

The Carey Women’s Bowling League honored 48 members at a themed spring banquet in the Hotel Carey dining room. Officers were elected for two years, Gibson's Sohio team won overall honors with $61 in cash and trophies.

Centenary Belle chapters organize over 40 charters for the Carey Centennial. Carey High School Senior Wins Time Magazine Contest

Martin D Jenkins a Carey High School senior won a Time Magazine Current Affairs contest in its 22nd year. The test reached over 1 000 classrooms across the United States and Canada with more than 100 000 students participating. Top scorers receive a certificate and a choice of a globe or a book. awards are given May 21 on Awards Day.

Findlay man recommended for Hancock County Elections Board

R. Ben Hosler of Findlay is recommended by the Democratic Executive Committee for appointment to the Hancock County Board of Elections. The secretary of state will appoint to fill the unexpired term of Jack Bowman who died recently. Hosler is son in law of J. A. Schira. Bowman was 30 and a nephew of Carl Krout.

Joseph Jacoby and wife celebrate golden wedding anniversary

Mr and Mrs Joseph H Jacoby of three miles south of Carey mark their 50th anniversary with a High Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation and a family dinner at Catholic Hall. They wed May 12 1908 at the shrine. They have five children, fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
