A delegation from the Patent-Teacher Association urged forming a five member park board for Carey Memorial Park. Council will study the plan, with May 19 meeting set to discuss details, and May 20 declared clean-up week with Frank Heck hired to assist. Carey residents are urged to tidy properties during clean-up week from May 20 to 23 in the Centennial Year. Debris such as brush cans trash and doors will be hauled away free if placed curbside in sturdy containers on designated days. Violators face fines. apartments may place refuse along alleys.

Wyandot County launches a spring program for training mentally challenged children with May 5 as opening date. 50 Year Jewels Awarded by Royal Arch Masons

The menu lists daily dishes from Monday to Friday including sauerkraut wieners and glazed carrots on Monday, scalloped turkey on Tuesday, Spanish rice and green beans on Wednesday, Italian spaghetti on Thursday, and macaroni and cheese with vegetables on Friday. More than 500 Brothers of the Brush hold signed charters and badges and certificates. Chairmen listing open charters include Pascal Courtad and Melvin Roynon among others. Chapters are named with playful titles such as Traitors and Barbellies and next week residents plan a joint paper feature. A full meeting of all Brothers of the Brush is planned for next Thursday at 7 30 p m at headquarters.

Carey Carillons hold meeting at Centennial HQ

Three members were absent from the Carey Carillons Monday meeting at Centennial headquarters. Petunia Pals Form First Meeting of Centennial Belles Chapter

The Petunia Pals held their inaugural meeting on Wednesday evening April 30 at Mrs. Ernest Engdahl's home. Miss Jennie Steen was chosen president with Miss Margie Sutphen as secretary and Miss Catherine Riester as treasurer. Mrs. Walter Doran became sheriff and Mrs. Engdahl served as board of governors representative. Members then attended the Centennial Belles Style Show at Centennial headquarters.

April Meter Receipts Rise in City Revenue Report

April meter receipts totaled 492 dollars, up 21 from a year earlier. First four months show 1958 receipts of 2,013 versus 2,053 in 1957. Overtime parking fines increased from 10 to 25 cents, boosting meter violation revenue and permit income for April 1958. Police issued 351 tickets, with 331 paid.

Jayles Injured in One Car Accident Near Upper Sandusky

Jayles Jr of Upper Sandusky, partner of the Sportsman’s Tavern, lost control of a northbound car on Route 699 near town at 3 39 am Saturday. The car struck a telephone pole, knocking out service to 65 subscribers until noon. He was hospitalized at Wyandot Memorial with three fractures of the left leg and minor injuries. The Carey police investigated. the car was demolished.
