Carey and Mohawk boards of education held a second meeting to explore a possible merger to address shared building needs. They will gather data on classrooms enrollments tax rates and costs and present findings to citizens. A joint high school for grades 10 11 and 12 is under consideration with 2253 pupils currently and 750 projected for grades 10 11 12 by 1965.

Carey Public School Open House Attracts Hundreds
Carey public schools held their annual open house Monday night with an estimated 400 to 500 parents and friends visiting classrooms. Mrs. Richard Spayd’s first grade, West School, led in attendance.
