Area Man and Boy Taken in Custody Over Rural Break-In
A Mt. Blanchard area man Paul D. Shiley 41 and a 15 year old boy were taken into custody by Wyandot County Sheriff’s Department for questioning in the Thursday night break-in of Carl Cole’s shed three miles northwest of Wharton. Gasoline bulk oil and wagon tire with rim were stolen. most property recovered. Hancock County Sheriff William Bell assisted in the arrests.

Vanguard, CCDC end talks on local plastics project
Vanguard representatives and the Cakey Community Development Corporation met at the Columbus Gas office Monday night to discuss a plastics venture. After long talks the group agreed Vanguard cannot enter manufacturing at this time and a citizen partnership cannot proceed. Ed Callahan of Columbia Gas attended the session. The development group has 43 paid members, with a new member drive planned this month, and Carey will be listed again with the Physicians Placement Service of the Ohio State Medical Association amid continued calls for more local doctors.
