Mrs Folk Wolf Rites Noted in Hancock County

Mrs Mariah Folk Wolf, aged 75, died Thursday at the home of her daughter Mrs Clem J Alspach. She leaves five children and several siblings. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 pm at Maple Grove cemetery Findlay, with Rev J M Shimer officiating. Many relatives attended from multiple towns.

Union Pre-Easter Evangelistic Campaign Launched

The Union Pre Easter Evangelistic campaign began Wednesday evening at 7 15 in the United Brethren church with Rev C L Kern delivering The Far-off Follower of Jesus. Rev J C Rinehart will preach tonight at the United Evangelical church as services alternate between the two churches. Come bring friends everybody welcome and hear the good old gospel with lively singing.

Chamber of Commerce Supports School Bond Proposal

A large audience gathered at the library for a Chamber meeting last Thursday. Members debated a proposed bond issue of 155000 for a new school building and the motion to support the Board of Education was carried unanimously.

Wyandot County Farm Bureau Launches March Membership Drive

The Wyandot County Farm Bureau plans a late March membership campaign with solicitors from the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. Local committees in each township will lead farm-to-farm drives. Dues rise to ten dollars with 50 percent kept locally. Funds support marketing, transportation, foreign trade, and legislation. Headquarters will be in Columbus, aiding producers and securing salesmen, while educating farmers about profits and attitudes toward farming. The initiative aims for broad farmer participation and a strong county bureau to push policy through local committees and state federation coordination.

Miss Catharine M. Ward and Mr. Oscar C. Baker were quietly married at the Central Methodist church in Pontiac Michigan on March 17 1920. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Thomas B Ward of Union City Indiana, has worked at Federal porcelain works and visited the Wyatts on West Findlay street. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs L C Baker of Cardington Ohio, is an automobile mechanic in Pontiac and will reside there with his bride.

Construction on the Carey Tire and Rubber Company building progresses with the second floor forms completed and cement pouring to begin. The boiler has arrived and plumbing and steam fitting materials are on site ready for rapid installation. A substantial showing is anticipated soon.

Sister Jennie Larmonth Returns From Africa Mission

Sister Jennie Larmonth recently completed two and a half years at Muhlenberg Mission in Liberia and returned to the United States. She landed in New York on March 1, then proceeded to the Mother House in Baltimore and is now with her mother and sister in Chicago for an extended furlough.

J A Newcomer learned his brother Paul of Fostoria recovered the Buick car recently stolen. It was found in a private garage and tied to the men who orchestrated a major theft of furs and silks at Tiffin some time ago.

County Appoints Emanual Wentz Superintendent

The county commission on Thursday morning named Emanual Wentz of Crane township as superintendent of the County Home to succeed N H Link who resigned. He will assume duties April 1. The Wyandot Auto Club arranged with the Secretary of State to purchase auto license tags for club members. Edwin Billhardt will handle the tags at the treasurer's office. Mrs Ulrich Paul died at her home five miles west of Upper Sandusky last Friday evening heart trouble was the cause. She was a daughter of Martin Winebrenner born in Hardin county November 15 1856. The county board of education reorganized Saturday morning electing C H Lewis president and John Curtis vice president. Districts Bowsherville and Pleasant Grove were transferred to Harpster village school. Civil service exams will be held in Upper Sandusky April 9 May 7 and June 4 for typist and clerk with stenography knowledge. Positions pay 1100 for typist 1200 for stenographer with increases after service. Applications via civil service commission at local post office. The Reds in Upper Sandusky allege a new town organization with a secret society called the Red Diamonds. Members left calling cards and warned to avoid meddling. A P F Sandles addressed farmers about a county farm bureau and agent, urging organization to boost markets and county prosperity. The county farm bureau plans to send reps to Columbus to establish a state bureau and then a national bureau.
