Pleasant Afternoon for Ladies Aid at Mrs. Wonder Home

The Ladies' Aid of the M.EO church met at Mrs. Jacob Wonder's home Wednesday of last week. Thirteen members attended and after quilting they enjoyed a sumptuous supper served by Mrs. Wonder.

Death of Thomas Long

Thomas Alexander Long longtime resident of Cares and vicinity died Sunday morning March 15 at his Brown Avenue home after a period of illness The immediate cause was acute congestion of the stomach with heart trouble as predisposing factor He was born April 30 1840 in Fairfield County Ohio and served in the Civil War He is survived by a brother Charles and a nephew Frank Miller Other relatives reside in the area Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church with Post AndAmerican Legion honors.

Travelers' Club Meeting Hosts Alaska Themed Talks

Mr and Mrs W G Bradies welcomed the Travelers' Club to their home for an evening meeting. Miss Arlene Slater presented a paper on Picturesque Alaska and W McGill spoke on The Resources of Alaska.
