Sunday dinner hosts Mr and Mrs Glenn Snyder entertained Misses Marie and Blair Miller of Bascom and Mrs William Snyder and her daughter Miss Lulu of this city as guests.
Country Church Week will be observed at Ohio State University during August 10 to 14, 1914. The week focuses on rural church interests and country community relations with sociological and economic talks by top authorities from other states. Ohio laymen will attend a conference to discuss current welfare problems of country churches under the College of Agriculture.
The Rev. W. Elmer Bailey of Grace Evangelical church departed for Burwick Pennsylvania to preside over an Evangelical conference assigned by the presiding bishop. He is described as capable to lead the occasion and handle any choir lapses with skill.
Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. preaching at 11:00 with subject Reeds Raiment and Prophets Miss Whales will sing a solo. Epworth League at 7:30 p.m. Sunday school at Lovell 1:20 p.m. preaching at 2:30. Come and see how much good you can do.
Mrs R D Sheppard of Upper Sandusky will address the mothers at a public meeting after the business session. All mothers are invited with babies, and prizes in the essay contest will be awarded that afternoon. Seventh and Eighth Grade pupils and teachers are urged to attend.
The county W. C. T. U. institute met last Thursday at the United Brethren church with large noon and evening gatherings. Mrs. Florence D. Richards of Columbus spoke on the world and national temperance work. Committees were named for enrollment, courtesies, press, subscriptions, and new members. Afternoon talks covered methods and literature, with Miss Mystle Aten and Supt. A. J. Nowlan among speakers. The banner went to Frances Willard Union for attendance. Evening at Snyder's Opera House featured Mrs. Richards with remarks on Women’s World-Wide War and national prohibition efforts.
