Mr and Mrs Robert Youngberg plan to open Carey Novelty Shop in the east room of the New Carey Theatre building within two to three weeks. The Carey High School band presents its winter concert Friday at 8 p.m. in the school auditorium with classical, semi classical, popular and novelty pieces from Strauss to Boogie Woogie. He later served in the Pacific and earned the American Theater ribbon European African Middle Eastern ribbon with bronze star Asiatic Pacific ribbon and Good Conduct and Victory medals.

Lt Clayton Shuman remained in serious condition at the Great Lakes naval hospital after a prior hernia operation and a later pneumonia illness.
