Athenians win after lengthy debate at Snyder's opera house
The Athenians beat Upper Sandusky high school in a Friday night debate at Snyder's opera house. Judges Lane Layton Wharton Rev Spaid ruled the Athenians won after eleven minute constructive rounds and five minute rebuttals on the prompt that conditions in the country threaten the republic.

William Ewing died Saturday March 7 1908 at his home six miles southwest of Carey He was born June 16 1826 in Amanda township Hancock county aged 71 years 8 months 21 days He married three times first wife Lydia Cross and second Mary L Alspach third wife with whom he had son L B Ewing He leaves his wife two sons five grandchildren and a brother Levi Ewing in Sidney VA and a sister in Michigan He joined the U B church at Hebron and served as class leader twenty two years His funeral was held Tuesday at the Lee church near Vanlue with interment nearby
