The Nutshall School announces its editorial leadership with Stan Jane Haford as Editor in Chief Peggy Laird as Assistant Editor and Richard Rook as Sports Editor. Reporters include Rita McKinnon Jack Green Samuel McChesney III Elizabeth Romig and Jerry Hunter.
Horace Newhard a senior Peggy Laird and Robert Detwiler juniors have been named winners in the Wyandot County American Legion essay contest on how the United Nations can become more effective.
The Annual Staff of 1948 worked long hours to prepare the annual for press. Monday afternoon of last week Mr. Wohlers and several students went to Gray's Printing.
Mrs W Brown Smith known as Mon Smith tours the country visiting couples who rented from her during the war. She recalls helping expectant mothers and babies find housing and plans a 1955 reunion, noting 43 stops left on her itinerary. The Shumans in Carey hosted her. other guests included Mr and Mrs H R Hutchinson of Toledo.

The Wesleyan Guild of the Methodist Sunday school will hold a special meeting Friday at 8 o'clock led by Mrs C G Laird of S Patterson street. The committee includes Mrs Laird, chairman, Mrs Ralph Vogel, Mrs Anson Shumaker, Mrs Willis So pher and Mrs Wallace Dible. All members urged to attend.
Miss Theo Cooper sold an 8 room house and 32 acres three miles west of Carey on Route 13 to Mr and Mrs E L Marquet of Findlay. The Stev ens Realty handled the sale and the new owners plan extensive repairs and modernization.
The Mary Martha class of Christ Lutheran Sunday school will meet Monday evening at 8 o clock with Mrs Richard Frederick of Find lay street. Assisting hostesses will be Mrs H K Van Buren, Mrs Don Fetters, Mrs Elaine Muzzey and Mrs Kenneth Richards.

Jerome Weinandy 55 head of Carey's street department suffered a stroke Saturday forenoon while driving the town truck near the stone quarry. He paralyzed his left side and fell when attempting to exit. A local physician took him to his Clay street home in serious condition. his wife Mrs Weinandy is recovering from a previous broken leg.
The 13th annual seed growers school in Columbus on February 26 27 focused on improving seed quality and safeguarding crops from disease insects and weeds. An 8-pound son arrived at 4:55 pm Monday for Mr and Mrs Leonard Scott of Carey. A February 27 birth at 7:25 pm in Findlay Hospital for Mr and Mrs Joseph Baker of 31227 Ash Avenue yielded Thomas Eugene. Another birth at 12:47 pm Friday in Findlay Hospital brought a 7-pound 15-ounce son to Mr and Mrs Howard D Beck Ason, with Mr and Mrs Raymond Tong of Forest noted. the Tong child named Danny Ray belongs to Mr Tong, son of Ervin Tong, west of Carey.
Mr and Mrs C H Kemerley and daughter Miss Nina joined Mr and Mrs Leonard Kemerley at Mason last Thursday as guests of WLW's Everybody's Farm hour hosted by Earl and Mayme Neil. They met Betty Brady and others involved in the broadcast.
The local W. B. A. review will hold a regular meeting Friday evening March 12 at 8 15 in the Moose hall. Following lodge there will be a sewing bee.
At the Carey Community Institute two sessions on February 26 and 27 handed out door prizes. Winners include Mrs Orville Wohlgamuth 50 chicks from Neuhauser Hatcheries and many others receiving goods from local merchants such as car services haircuts merchandise and food items.
An informal dinner at Jennings Cafe in Minneapolis honored Dunwoody Baking Department graduates from the William Hood Dunwoody Industrial Institute. Speaker Jack Feist of Standard Brands addressed the group, with Red Mathern serving as master of ceremonies and introducing the event. Charles Mathern, son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Mathern, attended the program.

Carey Implement Co sponsors a Carey Kiwanis program showing sound and color films about the lumber industry by International Harvester Co. Short reels followed the feature for a pleasant after dinner hour. Next Monday Caney Community club visits at 6 45 p m at Trubey's restaurant with a noted speaker and high attendance urged.
Robert White of Frederick street reported his Dodge stolen from McCutchenville Monday night after leaving the ignition key in the car. The highway patrol found the vehicle at Mt Victory Friday undamaged but out of gas. Police seek a link to an assault on two women at Mt Victory in March. A flashlight was in the car but is now missing.
Mr and Mrs Paul McNutt moved to a 40 acre farm east of McCutchenville recently purchased from Gerald Barth. Barth and his family moved to the 119 acre farm once occupied by the McNutts, owned by Mrs Barth's father Robert Badger. Mrs McNutt's parents Mr and Mrs Frank McDonald of Carey assisted with the move.

Paul Reinhart, residing 1% miles east of Alvada, sells his 8214 acre farm to Harvey Styer of Tiffin. Styer will take possession on April 1, transferring ownership and farmland to the new owner.
Carey High School Blue Devils defeated Ridgeway 62 48 as Dennison scored a tournament record 37 points. Stonberger Berardinelli and Green anchored defense and passing while Atkins adjusted defenses to shut down Ridgeway long shots. Ridgeway’s forward and guard trio struggled as Carey improved to reach the tourney final stretch.
Ralph A Peeples 44 of Elkhart Ind died in a late February collision on Ohio River Blvd near Leetsdale when his jeep and trailer struck a truck driven by Carel M Gamel 45 of Carey Ohio. Both vehicles fell onto railroad tracks. Gamel was uninjured.
The Jus tus Lodge No 393 Knights of Pythias conferred the rank of Page on three candidates Tuesday evening. Refreshments followed the regular meeting as attendance improved, with all members urged to attend regularly.
Earl Green Post 344 American Legion will mark the 29th anniversary of the local post with a program at the Catholic hall. Details are to be announced in a later issue.
