Wyandot County Youth Conference Set for Carey March 13

The 24th annual Wyandot County Council of Religious Education youth conference will be held at Carey Methodist Episcopal Church next Saturday March 13. The event features sessions led by Margaretta Ruehle Rev J H Weissrock and Rev Marion B E Tinsler with music drama and discussions for Protes tant youth from 32 county churches. Registration is 60 cents including meal and expenses.

Evangelist to Lead Series at Memorial Evangelical Church

Rev. G J Long of South Bend Indiana will conduct evangelistic services at Memorial Evangelical church from April 4 to 25. He previously led a similar series in January at Trinity Evangelical church in Upper Sandusky. The public is invited.

Women of the Moose Hold Meetings in February and March

The Carey chapter No. 600 of Women of the Moose hosted a hard time party on February 23 in their hall and held a regular meeting on March 2 initiating one candidate. This brings total new members to six this year.

Second grade pupils crafted 16 measure melodies in 2 4 time and saw music transferred to staff by eighth graders. Dr Embree Addresses Kiwanis On Meat Diet And Livestock

Dr W J Embree of Columbus spoke to the Kiwanis at the Pilgrim House about meat as a staple in history and modern diets. He cited Ohio importing 24 million dollars worth of livestock in 1936 and noted potential regional production. A motion picture on cattle tick eradication progress was shown. Bishop Alter to Confer Orders at Shrine Church

The Most Reverend Karl J. Alter will ordain seven Franciscan friars of Our Lady of Consolation Seminary to the subdeacon order at the Shrine Church on Saturday morning March 13 at 8:30. He will also confer tonsure and minor orders on three seminarians Friday evening at 7:30 in the Upper Church. The candidates include Dunstan Bryan M C Louisville Robert s O M C Grand Rapids Brendan Weishaar O M C Chicago Heights Edward Collet O M C Carey Aidan Witte O M C Grand Rapids and Marcellus Lell O M C Louisville. At a well attended Tuesday meeting Fr Cyprian spoke on the moral aspects of birth control and obedience to the Ten Commandments for spiritual and physical welfare. Funeral Held For Mrs Isaac Stombaugh In Fostoria

Mrs Isaac Stombaugh, widow of a Civil War veteran aged 79 years 10 months, was honored at a funeral attended by J T Stombaugh and family, W L Stombaugh, and Mrs C Egremlinger. Services were conducted at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Dayton Walters, on West High Street.
