The pest campaign closed March 1 and shows sparrows 7800 mice 1400 rats 315 crows 1 weasels 10 and 5 moles captured. Estimated yearly damage avoided exceeds 15 000 with farmers saving about 4725 from destruction. A banquet for winners will be announced later in this paper.
The son of Orion Klingler of Ada interviewed authorities Tuesday about his father missing since last week. Klingler, 58, 5 feet 8 3/4 inches, 190 pounds, gray hair, was thought to have wandered after a head injury while feeding chickens. A section man in Upper Sandusky reportedly spoke to someone matching his description.
A Northern Pacific representative will give two lectures at the high school auditorium on March 25 about Colorado the Northwest and Alaska. The afternoon talk targets school children while the evening session is open to the general public and will include moving and still pictures.
Kiwanis Club met at noon at the Gault Hotel with no guest speaker. Members discussed the Ladies Night program set for Tuesday evening March 16 at 7 oclock at the Methodist Church. Hugh Diamonds of Galion will speak. nearby clubs will be invited. Next Monday’s meeting is canceled.
Citizens report daily complaints about dog keeping. Ordinance 26 requires dog licenses of 100 for males and 200 for females. Those without licenses must comply at once or the dog catcher will enforce the ordinance. Miles Mullholand, Mayor.
Regular Crawford Chapter of the Eastern Star will hold a meeting on Friday evening March 19. Initiation will be followed by a social hour.
The Knights of Columbus present minstrel shows on Thursday and Friday evenings April 8 and 9. The event offers entertainment by K of C members for patrons in the community.
This week at Christ Church the mid week Lenten service discusses What and How to Pray based on the Lord's Prayer with pastor Will. Volunteers meet at 7. Next Sunday the Suffering Servant sermon series continues in the morning and shows What I Mean to the Church in the evening. Confirmation class, catechetical class, and a congregational meeting follow.
Mr and Mrs Fred Shuller of Lima will open a funeral home at the Bair property on W Findlay St Carey about April 1. Mrs Shuller graduated from Columbus School of Embalming in 1910 and Mrs Shuller from Cincinnati School of Embalming in 1912. They will offer funerals and sell caskets and vaults.
The following women plan to attend the O. E. S. school of instruction today in Upper Sandusky. The Methodist church ladies will serve dinner at 11 30 in the church and Walpole chapter will serve a 6 o clock dinner to visiting members.
A daughter in Washington DC seeks help locating her mother Mrs J A Pritchard whose death is recorded in the Carey Times on May 3 1900. She died at her home on E Findlay street aged 28 and mother of two children. The funeral occurred at the Methodist church with no burial noted.
City residents report ongoing radio interference since the new electrical line was built. Local electricians and fan Ross Johnson work on a loop radio to locate the source. Citizens hope for a solution.

Mr and Mrs Russell Zeis with daughter Margaret Ellen attended the funeral of William Kaylor Mitchener at Van Wert. Mitchener was the father in law of Kenneth Garn, formerly of Carey.
Rev J Barbour leads daily evangelistic services at the Church of God in Wharton. Evening gatherings begin at 7 30. Good music and invitation extended to all residents of the area.
Last Friday afternoon a fire destroyed the Wilcox home on the Mrs. Etta Shoup farm three miles west of town. Mrs. Wilcox and her two children Betty and Junior escaped as flames engulfed the upper portion. Neighbors arrived, but the kitchen and basement were lost, most clothing burned, and only some furniture saved. Officials suspect a defective flue as the origin. Shoup carried $2500 insurance, Wilcox insured for little more.
Mrs S Blose of Urbana died last Friday from a stroke suffered over a year. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Urbana attended by Mrs Clara Straws and daughter Miss Christine from Carey. Maiden name Anna Straw, daughter of the late David Straw. Survived by husband three daughters Mrs Henry Wright New York City Mrs Amherst Eaton Dayton Mrs Edward Brocaw Evansville Ind one sister Mrs Emma Hichelberger Urbana two half siblings Mrs Dudley Courtright Circleville and L Straw Garey native of Garey aged 69 February 4.
Mrs. Ed Gibbs of Monroe was summoned Saturday by the serious condition of her son-in-law Alvin Knapp. employed by the France Stone Co. at their Toledo plant. A collision near Toledo left Knapp with a crushed shoulder five torn ribs and a head injury. He was hospitalized for treatment.
Officials of the A. C. and C. will meet the Village of Carey board next Tuesday in Carey to discuss arbitration of the $50 000 damage suit the railroad recently brought against Carey.
Miss Emma Stief departed Wednesday afternoon for Philadelphia summoned by the serious illness of her sister Mrs Maurice Mench of Mifflinburg Pennsylvania who has been a patient at Jefferson Hospital for three weeks.
Millard Steen fell Tuesday while descending from the haymow when the ladder slipped, injuring the bone in his right leg between the ankle and knee. He was thrown to the barn floor.
Mrs Allen Baker Mrs George Shuman and Mrs Clint Baker attended a meeting of county Boys and Girls Clubs leaders at the courthouse Tuesday. A state speaker was present.
The five day old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Logsdon of north of town died this morning at 5 30. The infant had not been strong since birth.
The W. C. T. U. will meet Friday afternoon at 2 00 p m at the home of Mrs I L Culler for a local gathering.

A nine pound son was born Friday to Mr. and Mrs. A L Roszman south of Carey. A daughter arrived Tuesday morning to Auditor and Mrs. Anthony J Kraus on South Hazel Street. A twenty pound daughter named Regina Rose was born Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Logsdon north of town. A daughter born Monday morning to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kuenzli in Pitt Township. A son born Saturday morning to Mr. and Mrs. John Swinehart east of town named Milford Eugene. Mr. and Mrs. A B Castanian announced the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hilbish at Akron's People's Hospital Monday. Mrs. Hilbish is formerly Miss Mabel Castanian of the city. The Castanians left Tuesday for Akron.
Mrs George Ash presides as hostess and president for a Wednesday afternoon Home Missionary Society gathering. The program includes scripture reading, short prayers, a temperance talk by Mrs Dow, a discussion on two kinds of missionaries, a duet by Mrs Ash and Mrs Palmer, and closing songs.
The officers of Crawford chapter invite Mrs. Phil Henn and Ray Beebe as associate matron Mrs. Ella Smith and secretary Mrs. S. B. Gillet to inspect Tiffin chapter in Tiffin tomorrow evening. Reception at 5:00, dinner at 6:00, work at 7:30.
Ray Williams has purchased 20 acres of Edward Riester on the Carey Findlay road just beyond Sunnyside. A new home will be built and the water well is already being drilled on the site.

D J Humbert secretary reports three fires in Carey in 1925 with total losses of seven dollars. On March 26 an auto on 905 N Vance St caught fire but caused no damage. December 18 sparks from a chimney damaged W Z Campbells roof with seven dollars loss. December 28 a water pipe under Hammond's restaurant sparked but caused no damage. Several country calls occurred during the year.
Twenty four car loads of new steel reached the Hocking Valley yards on Wednesday for track relaying. The existing rails in use were installed in 1921.
Authorities warn residents that throwing ashes or cinders on any street in Carey violates law and will be dealt with according to legal penalties.

The Stewart-Warner Safety Council reports 11 785 Chicago auto accidents last year. Five to six pm saw the worst congestion with 1 030 incidents and 47 deaths. Four o'clock is when many children are struck after school, while seven to nine pm marks the peak for adult fatalities near theater hours.
The American Legion Department of Ohio announces a radio program on March 16 from Station WAIT Columbus 293.9 meters 9 to 10 45 p m EST. Mrs A H Kennerley hosted a Wednesday afternoon gathering for the Aid and the Women's Home and Foreign Missionary Societies of the Lutheran church. The program began with devotional led by Mrs Millie Payne and included a lesson on Prayer for Missionaries guided by Mrs W G Bradley.

A Sycamore auction on Thursday March LS at 100 o clock p m will sell 20 head of native horses including some omitted pairs and farm chunks. The horses are described as extra good and ready to hitch up and work. Auctioneer John Gebhardt.
