Blue and White Auto Follows Bus for Findlay Game

Carey Blue Devil fans decorate a 1950s green Dodge owned by James Messmer to follow the team bus to Findlay for Friday night’s game. Paint donations came from Monroe Dotson and Snyder Lumber. Mundy Mapes to add a large blue devil on the roof.

Garden Club Plans Flower Show and June Event

Carey Garden Club hosts at Mrs Dible home with fourteen members. Members discuss new seed varieties, cactus displays, and a June Flower Show at Methodist Church Basement themed Bridal Memories. Future broadcasts and county meetings slated, with lessons on begonias and cacti to guide preparations.

Boosters Promote Friday Procession for Carey Fans

Carey Boosters Club met February 25 at 10 a.m. in the Gas Office. Fans are urged to follow the Carey Bus to Friday Night games, forming a procession from the school to Findlay on Route 15. Bus departs 5 45 p.m. Cars must follow safety rules. Bob Springer of Fostoria won a hind quarter beef in the booster drawing.

Gourmet Sale Highlights Club Meeting Fundraiser

The club hosted a Gourmet Sale on February 21 at the House Pilerio. Hostesses Charles Heck and Mrs Forest Myers decorated in a George Washington theme. Mrs Ferdinand Williams chaired the business meeting with reports from the program and scholarship committees. The Ways and Means Committee sold Easter Tree tickets to benefit the Youth Scholarship Fund with a March 7 drawing. Heart Fund solicitation continues this week led by Mrs Charles Heck.

Mrs Vincent Arnold entertained six members and six guests of the J T Club at her east of Carey home. Prizes were awarded to Mrs James Lindsay and Mrs Doran. Mrs Robert Mott spoke on her New Orleans trip. next meeting set for March 30 at Mrs Wilbur Kinney’s home in Tiffin.

Carey banquet honors community leaders in March event

The Carey Community Development Corporation and Carey Jaycees host a joint Banquet, Bosses Night and Distinguished Service Award tonight at the First Methodist Church basement. Robert Reynolds Dies Suddenly

Robert Reynolds 56 a retired farmer died at Wyandot Memorial Hospital after a heart attack. He was born September 19 1910 in Richland Township to Charles and Effie Reynolds and married Nina Gatchel in 1935. A Wharton resident, he belonged to multiple lodges and churches. Funeral services are set for Saturday at Bristoll Womans Home with burial to follow.

Outlaws Wreck Tiffin Bar In Downtown Brawl

A motorcycle club known as the Outlaws converged on the Pub Bar in Tiffin causing 1500 to 2000 dollars in damage before police and deputies dispersed 150 to 200 members arriving from Illinois Indiana Michigan and Ohio. No arrests were made. The bar was gutted with windows smashed and tables shattered after the clash. The group left as about three dozen officers arrived. The incident followed a week old bar fight involving a go go girl dating a Lima Outlaws member who vowed they would return.

Local bankers meet in Columbus for mid winter session

The Ohio Bankers Association held its mid winter meeting in Columbus on February 22 attended by The Peoples Bank Carey staff and spouses from Carey Findlay Upper Sandusky and Newark. John W. Alford opened the event and introduced speakers Walter Mercer Jack Conn and Donald C Cook who discussed banking research federal legislation and the good neighbor business in turn.

Man Injured In Polo Grash

Wayne Lee Kaschner 20 of Sagi haw Michigan remains under observation for head injuries at Blanch ford Valley Hospital after losing control of a northbound car on N Vance Street February 27 and striking a telephone pole. Police report estimated damages at 250 dollars. No charges filed. A 1965 Chevrolet driven by James Cagle Detroit north on South Vance Street at 11 47 a m February 27 failed to curb at Clay Street and struck a 1957 Chevrolet driven by Marcella Hagerman Vanlue. Damages estimated at 80 and 100 dollars respectively. No charges.
