Buff Rock Exhibitor Edward Davidson Triumphs in Urbana

Edward Davidson traveled to Urbana on Wednesday for a poultry show. He displayed Buff Rock chicks and cockerels, earning first and second on cockerels and first through fourth on pallets and first on pen. He stayed as a guest of Albert Logsdon and family.

Fire damages North Street residence of Clarence Black

A Saturday night blaze at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Black on North Street caused serious damage to a bedroom and contents including a desk, chairs, clothing and bedclothes. Water damage was minimal after the firemen prevented a full house fire. Cause unclear but suspected to have started from a stovepipe. insurance covers the loss and neighbors and firefighters were thanked.

The Brotherhood of the Methodist Episcopal church held its second banquet last Friday night at the church with large attendance and enthusiasm. Rev. J. H. Fitzwater and others spoke, nine new members joined, music by the male quartet and Mae Cosgray, and a generous repast raised 27.65 for the group.
