Government plans cited on farm policy and cotton surplus
Wayne Observer questions government aims to raise farm product prices and redirect meat purchases from Argentines to save costs. It notes payments to corn belt farmers to curb corn and southern farmers to plant less cotton, yet outputs misalign with targets. The piece argues this creates a new corn belt while cotton surpluses remain unsold, mills lack buyers, and government spending aims to boost production and reclaim wastelands, prompting skepticism about policy logic.
