Farmers Protective meeting set for July to plan fall hunt
The Sportsmen's Protective Association schedules its meeting for Tuesday July 11 at 8 pm. Members must attend as plans for the fall hunting season are discussed. Reports indicate pheasant eggs collected from Bryin Wentline and M C Yost are sent to the Morehart hatchery for care and payment per bird raised. Tymochtee creek remains unfit for bass fishing while the Sandusky River near Smithville and Indian Mill is in excellent shape.

Two reliquaries containing relics of Franciscan saints were donated to Carey Franciscan houses by Very Rev Bede Hess O M C Minister General. Sunday night about 11 o clock six Carey youths were in a severe auto wreck eight miles south of Fremont. A flat tire caused the car to whirl and overturn down a 12 foot embankment. Mrs Jessie Putnam in Unusual Accident Near Cleveland Home
Mrs Jessie Putnam, of 3125 Prospect Ave Cleveland, was injured when the rear wheel of a passing taxi detached and rolled onto the sidewalk striking her as she returned from a prayer meeting on June 14. She suffered a badly broken left arm and other bruises, spent over two weeks bedfast, and returned home June 15 after hospitalization at Polyclinic. She is a former Carey resident with many local friends.
