Fire on Riester Road near Crawford destroys a 96 by 64 foot barn and equipment. Fifteen cattle perish and 2,600 bales of hay burn. Carey Volunteer Fire Department saves the farm house and contents, with aid from Upper Sandusky fire crews, after three hours of fighting. Lloyd Roulet presented an 80 year Knights of Templar Jewel. Governor Rhodes proclaimed Snyder Honored Citizen of Ohio. About 300 guests attended including George Snyder and Thomas A Reber.

Family accompanies PFC Wilson Tong to New Mexico
Mr and Mrs Frank Hutton Findlay and Miss Jayne Gibson returned home Monday after accompanying PFC Wilson Tong to White Sands New Mexico. Tong completed basic training at Fort Knox Kentucky on June 7 and then visited family before departing for a new assignment. The group stopped in Amarillo Texas and visited Edwards Huttons family. While in New Mexico they toured Carlsbad Caverns.

Carey to Host Northwestern Ohio Volunteer Firemen's Convention
