Open Air Catholic Bible Services Begin June 28

Under Our Lady of Consolation parish, a week of open air Bible services runs June 28 through July 3. Rev. John Vogels Ph.D. leads with 8:30 p.m. talks, a question box, and musical portions starting at 8:00 p.m. The program aims for calm explanation of Catholic doctrine and welcomes all citizens, including nonbelievers, to attend.

Navy Enlists Two Local Men for Three Years

Largest Attendance at State Meeting in Ohio

Wyandot county led statewide turnout at the 7th annual Ohio Home Demonstration Council meeting at Campbell Hall, Ohio State University. Carey residents including Mrs. Evert Lee and Mrs. Wesley Wonder attended, with a novelty skit “Sam and Tilda's Courtship” on Tuesday and top honors in the state publicity scrapbook contest awarded to Wyandot along with Ashtabula and Trumbull counties. Local participants also included Mrs. Truman Romig and several other Carey homemakers and the home demonstration agent.

Angus Picnic Draws 500 for Ohio Aberdeen Angus Event

About 500 persons from all over Ohio gathered at the Earl Burson farm near Carey for the annual Ohio Aberdeen Angus Breeders association picnic. Highlights included beef barbecued for guests, a judging contest, expert talks on beef cattle production, and demonstrations. A Buckeye Lake troupe performed and a state Angus show and sale was announced for Urbana on August 12.

Annual Picnic for Wyandot County Farm Bureau

The Wyandot County Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Cooperative announce their annual picnic on Sunday June 27 at the Upper Sandusky fairgrounds dining hall.
