Council debates electric line plan for Carey to Rawson
The adjourned council meeting heard engineer Froelich assess two proposals for bringing outside electric current to town use. Western Ohio Power and Light Co. offered to finance a Carey to Rawson line with 20 percent monthly revenue return and 6 percent interest, supplying current at Carey and handling industrial work if desired. The Toledo group proposed a Carey to Findlay line with town responsibility for upkeep and uncertain Findlay capacity. The engineer favored the Western Ohio plan. The council voted to hire an attorney to draft a bond issue resolution and call an election, with further meeting set for June 28.
